How to Install

Notes:
The instructions may vary depending on the Windows OS version.
By installing this driver, the printer icon named "Brother xxxxxx Printer" or "Brother xxxxxx series" will be added in
the Devices and Printers section.
You must be logged on as an Administrator.
If the User Account Control dialog box appears, click Yes.
If the Windows Security dialog box appears, check Always trust software from "Brother Industries, ltd." and
click Install.
For Network Shared Printing:

*If your client PC has the same OS as the server PC:

1. Open the Control Panel. (Click here to see how to open the Control Panel.)
2. Click Hardware and Sound => Devices and Printers => Add a printer.
3. Click The printer that I want isn't listed.
4. Select Select a shared printer by name and type the Network Printer's Name, e.g. \\server\MFC-xxx
5. Click Next.
6. If the warning message appears, click Install driver.
7. Click Next.
8. If you want to use your Brother machine as the default printer, check Set as the default printer.
Click Print a test page to check if your machine is working properly.
9. Click Finish.
*If your client PC has a different OS than the server PC:
NOTE: There are some instances where you should follow the steps above, even if the client PC uses a different OS than
that of the server.
1. Once the download is complete, open the folder or directory and double click on the downloaded file to extract it.
If you cannot find the downloaded file, please click here to see how to download a file.
2. Open the Control Panel. (Click here to see how to open the Control Panel.)
3. Click Hardware and Sound => Devices and Printers => Add a printer.
4. Click The printer that I want isn't listed.
5. Select Select a shared printer by name and type the Network Printer's Name, e.g. \\server\MFC-xxx
6. Click Next.
7. If the Connect to Printer dialog box appears, click OK.
8. Click Have Disk.
9. Click Browse and specify the folder created in Step 1.
10. Click Open.
11. Click OK.
12. Click Next.
13. If you want to use your Brother machine as the default printer, check Set as the default printer.
Click Print a test page to check if your machine is working properly.
14. Click Finish.
For Network Printing using TCP/IP (Peer-to-Peer Printing):
1. Once the download is complete, open the folder or directory and double click on the downloaded file to extract it.

2. Open the Control Panel. (Click here to see how to open the Control Panel.)
3. Click Hardware and Sound => Devices and Printers => Add a printer.
4. Click The printer that I want isn't listed.
5. Select Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname and click Next.
6. Type the IP address of your Brother machine and be sure to check off the Query the printer and automatically
select the driver to use option.
7. Click Next.
8. Click Have Disk.
9. Click Browse and specify the folder created in Step 1.
10. Click Open.
11. Click OK.
12. Select the model name and click Next.
Note:
If the model name in the list includes USB in the name of the driver, it is possible to use this driver for network
connection.
13. Select Replace the current driver and click Next (If applicable).
14. Type a printer name and click Next.
15. Select Printer Sharing option and click Next.
 16. If you want to use your Brother machine as the default printer, check Set as the default printer.
Click Print a test page to check if your machine is working properly.
17. Click Finish.
For Local Printer:
1. Once the download is complete, open the folder or directory and double click on the downloaded file to extract it.

2. Connect the USB cable.
3. Open the Control Panel. (Click here to see how to open the Control Panel.)
4. Click Hardware and Sound => Devices and Printers => Add a printer.
5. Click The printer that I want isn't listed.
6. Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings and click Next.
7. Select Use an existing port: (USB port) and click Next.
8. Click Have Disk.
9. Click Browse and specify the folder created in Step 1.
10. Click Open.
11. Click OK.
12. Select the model name and click Next.
13. Select Replace the current driver and click Next (If applicable).
14. Type a printer name and click Next.
15. Select Printer Sharing option and click Next.
16. If you want to use your Brother machine as the default printer, check Set as the default printer.
Click Print a test page to check if your machine is working properly.
17. Click Finish.

2. file yang di download adalah CUPSwrapper printer driver (deb package) dan
Linux-brprinter-installer
3. setelah file terunduh, install file kedua file tersebut hanya dengan mengkliknya, maka anda
akan diarahkan ke ubuntu software center untuk penginstalan
4. setelah kedua file terinstall, restart pc anda, lalu colokan usb printer dan nyalakan printer
anda
5. printer anda akan terintalasi dengan sendirinya, jika printer tidak terinstalasi dengan
sendirinya, anda dapat menginstall printer anda di pilihan add printer di menu
printer,maka printer anda akan terdeteksi dan terinstall dengan sendirinya
6. setelah langkah diatas,anda telah menginstall printer anda, namun anda belum dapat
melakukan printing
7. masuk browser dan ketikan localhost:631,lalu klik tab printers, pilih nama printer
anda di daftar printer yang ada
8. klik administration, disana ada beragam pilihan maka klik modify printer, jika
pc anda menggunakan password maka password dibutuhkan untuk langkah ini
9. disaat pemilihan koneski, pilih usb://Brother/DCP-
J140W?serial=BROA3F168081 lalu continue
10. disaat pemilihan deskripsi anda dapat langsung mengklik continue
11. disaat pemilihan model, pilih Brother DCP-J140W CUPS (en) dari daftar yang
ada, lalu pilih modify printer, maka penginstalan telah selesai dan anda dapat
menggunakan printer anda
12. anda bisa melakukan cara seperti ini juga untuk printer epson L200
 Brother semakin menambah fitur-fitur printernya, dengan mengeluarkan printer mfc-j265, printer ini sudah
dilengkapi dengan fasilitas akses networking dengan wireless . Proses print yang biasanya menggunakan
media kabel, tidak dibutuhkan lagi pada printer mfc-j265 ini. KIta tinggal melakukan setting printer dan
komputer/laptop kita agar bisa melakukan komunikasi melalui wireless. Sebagai bahan untuk membantu dalam
memanfaatkan fitur wireless yang ada di brother, berikut kami berikan tutorial bagaimana cara setting wireless
printer brother :
1. Factory Reset
a. Tekan tombol Menu pada mesin Printer anda
b. Gunakan tombol atas bawah untuk mencari menu Network
c. Sesudah itu Tekan tombol OK
d. Pilih Factory Reset, lalu tekan tombol OK
e. Tekan angka 1 (jika printer ada tombol fax, jika tidak lihat layar untuk petunjuknya), mesin akan mereset
otomatis untuk networknya.
2. Setup Wizzard untuk mengaktifkan wireless
a. Tekan tombol Menu, lalu menggunakan tombol atas bawah cari menu Network, Lalu tekan tombol OK.
b. Pilih menu WLAN, lalu tekan tombol OK
c. Pilih menu Setup Wizard, lalu tunggu sebentar mesin akan mencari SSID, jika mencari SSID telah selesai,
tekan tombol Clear/Back
d. Wi-Fi icon akan ada di layar paling atas.
Setting on Computer
1. Masukan CD Driver
2. Pilih Bahasa yang inginkan (disini contohnya English)
3. Pilih menu Initial installation
4. Lalu pilih Install MFL-Pro Suite
5. Pilih Yes dan tunggu sebentar
6. Pilih Wireless Network Connection dan pilih next
7. Centang semua pilihannya dan pilih next lagi
8. Jika wifi anda mendetect printer pilih printer tersebut dan next sampai keluar message dan diharuskan
merestart
9. Jika wifi anda tidak mendetect, pilih opsi ke 2 yaitu specify your machine by Address
10. lalu anda isikan IP address yang ada di printer ke kolom yang kosong itu
Cara mencek IP address di Printer, Pilih Menu -> Network -> WLAN > TCP/IP -> IP address
11. Jika sudah komputer akan segera memproses, sampai ada pesan Brother Registration, jika ada lalu pilih next
dan restart komputer.
Setting On Wireless Network Connection
1. Pada PC / Notebook cari Wireless Network Connection
2. Sesudah itu pilih SETUP di pilihan choose a wireless network
3. Pilih Connect
4. Pilih juga Connect Anyway dan tunggu sebentar
5. Tunggu sebentar sampai Wireless tersebut Connected
NB : Cara setting ini berlaku untuk type printer brother yang terdapat sistem wireless.
