Objective:

The principal objective of this assignment is emulate a differential equation that is based on a
transfer function.

Fig.1. Open-loop system block diagram

Then obtaining the transfer function of the phisical real system and compare it with the original
function.
Proofs:

1. Matlab simulation:

[1]Making use of Simulink we simulate the behavior of the function with a signal generator of 20Hz,
shows the next signal:

Fig.2. Closed-loop system block diagram

Fig.3. simulated closed-loop system response to a pulse signal.

[2]We build it with the opamp TL084, the diagram that was used is in the annex 1.

Fig.4. Physical system.

The results of the test with a signal of 22.32 Hz describe a signal with a Mp = 12.5% and a tp = 6ms.

Fig.5. schematic of Mp and tp

We see in the oscilloscope:

Fig.6. Real response to a square signal 1Vpp and 22.32Hz

We build the transfer function based on this model:

Fig.7. Model of transfer function

With:

= 631.69
= 523.6
= 0.006
= 12.55%
= 0.55
We obtain:
399030
( + 694.86)

Simulating this transfer function in Simulink we obtain:

Fig.8. Closed-loop system block diagram

Fig.9. simulated closed-loop system response to a pulse signal.

Conclusions:

As we can see in the real test (Fig 6.) the response is the same that we obtain in Simulink (Fig 9.)
with the transfer function that we obtained from the analysis of the response on the real test.

Therefore, we can deduct that we can obtain a transfer function based on the signal response or
based on the schematic of the system, or we can obtain any of them based on the analysis of one
of them.
