Tip1:Firstandforemost,allLaTeXfilesmustbesubmittedasManuscriptfiles.Yourstylefilesand
auxiliary.bblfile(ifusingBibTeX)areallpartoftheManuscript.TheseadditionalfilesARENOT
SupplementalDatafiles.SupplementalDataaremultimediavideo,audio,spreadsheet,ordatabase
filesthataresupplementaltothemanuscriptitself,butwillbeincludedinpeerreview.Ifyouupload
styleandotherLaTeXfilesassupplementaldata,yourmanuscriptwillnotbuildproperlyinEditorial
Manager.

Tip2:IfusingBibTeX,youwillneedtouploadtheauxiliary.bblfile(notthe.bibfileofreferences)asa
Manuscriptfile.

Tip3:AllfiguresmustbeincludedinEPSorPDFformat.Otherformatswillnotbuildproperly.Ifusing
PDFfigureswiththe\includegraphicscommand,youmustusethe.pdfextension,e.g.,
\includegraphics{alld.pdf}insteadof\includegraphics{alld}.

Tip4:IftheEditorialManagerPDFdoesnotbuildproperly,checkthegeneratedPDFforerror
messages.Thiswilloftenleadtotheproblem,e.g.,missingstylefilesorfiguresinthewrongformat.

Tip5:Youmayalsowanttocheckthatyourimagefilesarereferencedcorrectly.Imagescannotbe
referencedinsubfolders.MakesureaccompanyingfilesarereferencedcorrectlyinyourTexfile.One
exampleofacorrectlyreferencedimageis:\epsfig{figure=alld.eps,width=.5\textwidth}.Anexampleof
anincorrectlyreferencedimageis:\epsfig{figure=images/alld.eps,width=.5\textwidth}.

Tip6:IfyouseequestionmarksinthereferencesofyourPDF,mostlikelyyourTexfile(s)arein
subdirectories.Texsubmissionscannotincludesubdirectoriesforyoursubmissiontoproperlybuild.All
associatedfilesmustbeinonedirectoryforthesubmissiontobuild.

Tip7:Ifyouviewlargeorcutoffimages,thenyouwillneedtoresizetheimagetofitonone8.5x11
page.WhenthereisaproblemcausedbynotresizingPostScriptfiles(theimagesgetcutoff)the
authorwilleitherneedtoresizetheimagesorsavethefilesinaformatthatEMcanrecognizeasan
image.(PerhapsasaTIFForaJPEG).PleasenotethatEPSfilesarethebestchoiceforimagefilesinTex
submissions.
