Dear Candidate,
With reference to your application for admission to MTech programme at IIT Guwahati
for the July 2017 Session, we are to inform you that you have been provisionally selected to join
the said MTech programme. You should (register first time and) login in the Common Offer
Admission Portal (COAP) at https://learning.tcsionhub.in/coap to make decision on the
offer made by IIT Guwahati and also other available offers on or before June 01, 2017 (23:59
hours) for Round-1.
Select your decision carefully. Once you make the decision and submit, no further
changes are possible.
You should make your decision between the following three options. Read carefully the
following.
Option Accept and Freeze: This option means willing to accept one of the present offers and
does NOT like to be considered for upgrading to higher preferences or any other offers, if any,
in all the subsequent round(s) of admission/ offer in any of the participating academic institutes
and PSUs.
After clicking the Accept and Freeze option, the candidate should press submit button to
confirm the submission of decision. Selecting this option you WILL NOT BE considered in
subsequent round(s) of admission / offer in any of the participating academic institutes and
PSUs.
If you have submitted Accept and Freeze for the admission offer made by IIT Guwahati then
you should report in person at 9:00 am on July 25, 2017 in IIT Guwahati for doing registration
and joining the MTech Programme at IIT Guwahati. For further details, please visit
http://www.iitg.ernet.in/acad/admissions/ around July 20, 2017.
Option Retain and Wait: This option means willing to accept one of the present offers and
also would like to be considered for upgrading to the candidates higher preferences or any
other offers, if any, in the subsequent round(s) of admission / offer. Candidates selecting this
option WILL NOT BE considered for the other rejected offers in the current round and also in
earlier round(s). Nevertheless, the candidate will be considered for other higher preferences or
any other offers, if any, in the subsequent round(s) of admission / offer by the participating
academic Institutes and PSUs.
After clicking the Retain and Wait option, the candidate should press submit button to
confirm the submission of decision. The candidate should visit the webpage of COAP for
subsequent round(s) to view and make decision during the specified time window of Round 2 to
Round 5.

Option Reject and Wait: This option means the candidate is NOT willing to accept any of
the offer(s) of admission / job in the present round, but the candidate would like to be
considered for upgrading to higher preferences or any other offers, if any, in the subsequent
round(s) of admission / offer by the participating academic institutes and PSUs. After clicking
the Reject and Wait option, the candidate should press submit button to confirm the
submission of decision. The candidate should visit the webpage of COAP for subsequent
round(s) to view and make decision during the specified time window of Round 2 to Round 5.
You are requested to visit the webpage of COAP for each round of offers till the
decision of Accept and Freeze is made. If you do not access the COAP or do not make
a decision during a particular round of offers, then all new offers made during that round
will be considered as Reject and Wait (in Round 1 to 4) / Reject and Quit (in Round 5).
The information related to offers displayed at the website of IIT Guwahati is for your
information only and you should make a decision on all available offers (including offers
made by IIT Guwahati) at COAP only.
The candidates joining IIT Guwahati should take note of the following:
1. You should report in person at 9:00 am on July 25, 2017 for registration at IIT Guwahati.
If you fail to report on July 25, 2017 at IIT Guwahati, the admission offered by IIT
Guwahati to you shall be cancelled and the seat will be allotted to eligible candidate
through spot round or other procedures. To avoid any uncertainty (like train/ flight
delay, etc.), you are advised to reach IIT Guwahati by July 24, 2017. On the Day of
Registration, you should make payment of fee (for Regular Category-Hosteller:
Rs.34,870/- for General/OBC and Rs.29,870/- for SC/ST/PwD) to IIT Guwahati.
3. Selected candidates who appear in their qualifying degree examinations after 14-07-
2017, shall be automatically disqualified for admission.
4. Selected candidates whose qualifying degree results are awaited, shall have to produce
their original Pass Certificate and Mark Sheets (for each semester/ year, as may be
applicable), latest by 21-08-2017, failure to which their admissions shall be cancelled.
