I. ANSWER the following questions briefly. (5 points each)

Q.1 Discuss the statement: Failing to define what not part of the project is just as important as failing to
define what part of the project. Justify your answer.

Answer: If you cant tell which is the right part and the wrong part of the project the project youre
working will fail even though you add things that will make your project better if you cant figure it out
which is the right and wrong part of the project its still going to fail, because if you cant define the not
part of the project it can ruin the whole project.

Q.2 Discuss the importance of top management commitment and the development of standards for
successful project management. Provide examples to; illustrate the importance of these items.

Answer: The top management team of a company controls decision making that affects everyone from
the president down to entry-level employees. Those decisions, along with the way the management
members treat the staff, affect the success of the company. Understanding those effects helps the
management team make changes as necessary to improve the achievement of the company.

Ex. Asset Management and Support

A company's financial decisions typically come from the top level of management. This includes each
department's budget for the fiscal year. In many cases, the purchase of equipment and other assets
must be approved by top management. If the employees don't have access to the equipment and
resources necessary to complete their jobs, the company's achievement suffers. A management team
that supports the staff and has a sense of what they need is better equipped to lead the company to
success.
