COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The course covers the basics of management science, theory and practice, the various
approaches to decision making, to managing: managing production and services operations;
managing marketing function and managing finance function. Emphasis is also given on the
managerial functions of planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling.

COURSE OBJECTIVE:

The course aims to:

1. Provide students with understanding on the field of engineering management.


2. Equip students with knowledge of applying the different functions of management.
3. Enable students to use knowledge and creative thinking skill on the application of
appropriate strategies and tactics in management, improvement of a given operational
management processes.
4. Provide students with knowledge of constructing educated decision governing the factors
that positively and adversely affect workers productivity in a given work environment.

COURSE OUTCOMES:

By the end of the course, the students will be able to:

1. Demonstrate knowledge of applying the different function of management.


2. Apply the appropriate strategies and tactics in management, improvement of a given
operational management processes.
3. Construct educated decision governing the factors that positively and adversely affects
workers productivity in a given work environment.

Technical Activities; Engineering Management Principles; Decision Making as a
