GUIDELINES FOR CHEMISTRY I (CHE0315) PROJECT

1) For your project, you will work in a group of 3 and the title of a project will be given to
each group.

2) A total of 20% of the semester assessment is allocated to your project, where:


the summative process will contribute 17 % of your mark (group%)
the peer evaluation will be worth 3% (individual%)

3) There will be four meetings in your class with your lecturer on this project:
a) First meeting is on 3rd week
- Submit draft and get feedback on project planning

b) Second meeting is on 6th week


- Get feedback on introduction and content of the project

c) Third meeting is on 11th week


- Get feedback on conclusion, abstract, bibliography and appendices

d) Fourth meeting is on 13th week


- Oral interview

Note: Any other meetings are upon request and appointments.


You are required to consult your lecturers on your progress.

4) There will be four submissions collected by your supervisor throughout the semester.

Week 3 Draft of project planning


Week 6 Draft of introduction and content
Week 11 Draft of conclusion, abstract, bibliography and appendices
Week 12 The completed project

*All submissions must be typed.

Your final project submission must be bound and have these sections:

1) Title

2) Project planning

3) Abstract

4) Introduction

5) Content (or Body)

6) Conclusion

7) Bibliography

8) Appendices (if any)

The format of writing-up your project

1) A front cover of the project must have


- Title of the project
- Names and matric numbers of students
- Name of lecturer 1 inch
- Course title and course code
- Semester of submission

2) The report should be double spacing using A4 size paper A4 paper

3) The margin is 1 inch for all four sides (top, bottom, left and right) 1 inch
1 inch

4) Use full justified alignment

5) Use the Times New Roman with font size of 12

6) Insert page number in the center, at bottom of each page. 1 inch

7) Put every sections under uppercase headings

8) Include a table of contents

9) Your report should be written in 12 15 pages (excluding the table of contents,


bibliography and appendices)
