For the structure of the Philippines tourism video, a tourist is exploring the different

wonderful places here in Philippines. From the very start, we can already hypothesize that the
man with sunglasses is a blind person because the man needs the assistance and help of other
people. Also, when you see a person with that kind behavior, actions, and wearing sunglasses
here in the Philippines, we hypothesize right away that that man is a blind person. The first
statement also tells us that the man is blind. When the blind man got off the boat, and finally
stepped on the place of Hundred Islands, the people in that place welcomed him with a smile on
their faces. It shows how hospitable Filipinos are. When the blind mans hat flew way, the
children immediately swam in the sea to get his hat. It is true that you dont have to see the sun
to discover radiance because the heart, smiles and good attitude of the people here in the
Philippines shines so bright. The blind man went to Banaue Rice Terraces and heard the music
produce by people using their instruments, and the sound of their steps and laughter while
dancing. In the statement you dont have to see color to experience vibrance it means that, by
just hearing and listening to your surroundings and people around you, you can already
experience vibrance with their laughs and music that creates imagery to people who cant see.
The Blind man went to Paoay Sand Dunes and there he experienced how kind and helpful
Filipinos are. He said you dont have to see smiles to know youre safe because their kind actions
towards people and even people they do not know assures you that you are safe in their hands.
When the blind man finally went to his last destination which is the Calle Crisologo in Vigan, he
said you dont need to see to know that you are home because as what he experience during his
stay there, people welcomed him like he is not just a visitor but a part of their family. In this last
scene, we can conclude that he is blind because he used a walking stick to support him while
taking steps.

While the structure of South Africas video, it started with a man and his wife who went
to South Africa. It is very clear that the man feels alone in this world even if hes with his wife
beside him. He looks so sad. The Africans taught the man how to surf and the video is like
trying to tell us that we can also do what others can do. We just need to explore ourselves and
practice very hard. Also, we need to go out of our comfort zones. The next scenarios are just
scenes of the man going to different places and experiencing new things with the help of
Africans. At the end of the video, the man walked using a walking stick which made us conclude
that he is a blind person. Though it is not clearly shown in the video that he is blind because he
does not look like he is based on how he acts and move, the walking stick is the one that made us
realize that he is a blind man. The walking stick symbolizes how that blind man needs supports
and help especially from people close to him.

For the purpose of the tourism advertisement made by South Africans, the advertisement

beauty of hearts of the South African people. The blind man was guided by some people beside
him even if he has a cane with him already. This is to show authenticity and friendliness. The
warmth and hospitability that he experienced not by literally seeing the beauty of the place but
by letting him feel he's home, safe and special and it only means that its not always what you see
is the only beauty but its really whats inside-attitude. Thats why they are encouraging tourist to
visit their place because just like a blind who appreciated the compelling trip, you will also enjoy
and appreciate it more.

Theme

Philippines
If we take "you dont have to see.." out of context, it could mean anything, but in the new
ad it tells us that you can have fun without vision, literally you dont need your eyes to
experience the joy and excitement of the Philippines. That means you would have to rely on your
other senses, some might see it as a bad thing, but in reality its far from it. Without vision, you
would have to hear the laughter of the people around you, tastes the sweetness of the food, smell
the aroma of the flowers, and feel the welcome of the country, in short you wouldnt miss any
part of the experience.

South Africa

For the tourism ad of South Africa, we can see this as its theme Just because you dont
see the beauty doesn't mean it does not exist. It tells us that we can enjoy life in different ways.
They use a sort of colorful style to emphasize and make it work with the rhythm. It also goes
well with the cinematography and the different messages. One of which is that you would find
the experience of the life time in one place. Another would be that even though they are
struggling economically, they are still strive to not show their misfortune, and that its all about
showing the people a happy face, even if its a mask.

Philippines

The video of the Philippines is very colorful and lively, it really reflects the color and
richness of our culture. But we can also compare it to the blind Japanese in the video, very
happy, very positive, even though he has a disability, he can still smile and laugh knowing that
people around him will make him safe, happy, and contented.

South Africa

The video of the South Africa has a pale or faded effect and we think that it worked with
the rhythm, We can compare it to the life of the blind man in the video, all the sufferings he had,
all the challenges, but hes still not giving up and still goes to different place to find happiness
and enjoyment, just like the video, it lack colors, but not completely colorless.

Rhythm
Philippines

Listening to the background music of the tourism ad, we felt the energy and at the same
time we felt the warmth, and the only word that came into our mind is adventure. The beat
gave us that festival vibe that is commonly celebrated in different parts of the country. Its like
your body will unconsciously dance to the music.

South Africa

The rhythm was a bit more slow and calm; it sort of brings out a kind of melancholy
mood and classical feeling when listening to it. Because of this it grabs your attention and makes
you pay attention. Finally it sort of emphasizes that peaceful mood you get when you wake up on
a sunny day.
