Sales Strategy

A sales strategy consists of a plan that positions a companys brand or product to gain a
competitive advantage. Successful strategies help the sales force focus on target market
customers and communicate with them in relevant, meaningful ways. Sales representatives
need to know how their products or services can solve customer problems. A successful
sales strategy conveys this so that the sales force spends time targeting the correct
customers at the right time.
Significance
Planning and creating an effective sales strategy requires looking at long-term sales goals
and analyzing the business sales cycle, as well as meeting with sales people about their
personal career goals. Going through these exercises helps business owners and managers
gain a more intimate knowledge of the sales intervals, seasonal changes and what motivates
the sales team. After creating the long-term sales strategy based on long-term goals, sales
managers should create monthly and weekly sales strategies based on the long-term
strategy. This allows for short-term performance measurement of the sales team.
Types
Businesses employ one of two basic types of sales strategies to their overall plan: direct or
indirect. With the direct sales strategy, sales people attack the competition head on when
talking to the customer. They talk about each feature of the competitions product and
compare it to theirs. The term "negative selling" refers to the direct sales approach. Indirect
sales approaches apply more subtle techniques by demonstrating features and benefits not
available with the competitions products or services without ever mentioning them by
name. This more sophisticated, positive sales strategy requires research and analysis of the
competition.
A successful sales strategy includes product placement, promotion and testimonials in
addition to the core selling strategies for the sales force. Product placement and promotion
create brand awareness by using the various marketing channels available today. Social
media networks offer a free platform for increasing brand awareness. Business owners can
utilize these tools effectively by spending time each day to communicate with fans and
followers on their social network pages. Customer testimonials readily available for
Page | 10
SIP/IBSH/CSI/16BSPHH01C1113
prospects to read or watch lend authority to a small business and the products and services
it offers.
Function
Regardless of whether a business uses a direct or indirect sales strategy, or a combination
of the two, sales managers need to work with sales people on techniques. New customer
acquisition and customer retention require two approaches. A sales strategy lays out the
steps and methods necessary for customers in different stages. Potential customers need
communication that introduces the brand and product or service in ways that show how it
can solve his or her problems. Current customers require more personal communication
about new features or benefits to keep them engaged. Promotions and referral discounts
work to motivate current customers to spend their money and to spread the word to others.
Considerations
Creating an effective sales strategy requires market knowledge, awareness of competitor
activities, awareness of current trends and detailed business analysis. Small business
owners wishing to create and implement a sales strategy for the first time may want to hire
a professional business consultant to help guide the process.

Objective of Internship
Basically the objective of internship is to work on three areas as explained below:

a) To study and analyze about consumer perception for Digital Marketing and
promoting digitalization through event.
b) To increase the sale of the company, generate quality leads and bring loyal
customers. To create Bridge between Clients and company
c) To study sales and Distribution of the company and strategize and plan marketing.

To study and analyze about consumer perception for Digital Marketing and
promoting digitalization through event.

In order to conduct the meetings and client pitching the 1st step is to find out various
sources through which we can get the details of our target group. We find out sources by
visiting various institutes, web or make some calls to get the details of these people. After

Page | 11
SIP/IBSH/CSI/16BSPHH01C1113
getting the details of our target group we make calls to them and fix appointments
accordingly to meet the person and do the dealing so that person is ready to bring its
participants and give profits to the company.
To increase the sale of the company, generate quality leads and bring loyal
customers. To create Bridge between Clients and company

After getting the details of our target group we call them take appointments and meet the
person to do the deal and close registration. We collect information from the respondents
by asking them certain fixed questions taking their responses and fixing the follows.

To study sales and Distribution of the company and strategize and plan
marketing.: Analysis is done of the collected data. The purpose of this study is to understand
the relationship of the respondents with the product as we did follows and now how the client can
benefit the company we also give profit slabs if the client is not easy to pitch up.

Limitations of the study

Though I have put in all my earnest efforts in attempt to penetrate deep into the project and
I have received lot of support from company employees and my faculty guide who was
very helpful and cooperative in this regard. I would still like to list down certain limitations
under which the study was conducted.
Time was one of the major constraints that affected the study, as this was the topic
that required in depth and extensive research.
Not familiar with the local language was one of the biggest challenge as I couldnt
effectively interact with all the customers as people in north somewhat gives
importance to their language.

This task is based on the opinion of the people who were being interacted.
Possibilities are that they may be having sufficient knowledge and yet they have
participated in the research. Analysis result will tend to differ. Some information
which is confidential is not available and can affect analysis.
The presence of extraneous variables is unavoidable

Page | 13
SIP/IBSH/CSI/16BSPHH01C1113
There are only major brands on which analysis and research is done there are
many Small players also in market which can be a threat in future

Time is of only 3 months to finish this report more data could be collected and
better analysis could have been done if time was not a constraint

Sex-selective abortion or female foeticide has led to a sharp drop in the ratio of girls born
in contrast to boy infants in some states in India. Ultrasound technology has made it
possible for pregnant women and their families to learn the gender of a foetus early in a
pregnancy. Discrimination against girl infants, for several reasons, has combined with the
technology to result in a rise in abortions of foetuses identified as female during ultrasonic
testing. The trend was first noticed when results of the 1991 national census were released,
and it was confirmed to be a worsening problem when results of the 2001 national census
were released. The reduction in the female population of certain Indian states continues to
worsen, as results of the 2011 national census have shown. It has been observed that the
trend is most pronounced in relatively prosperous regions of India.[10] The dowry system in
India is often blamed; the expectation that a large dowry must be provided for daughters in
order for them to marry is frequently cited as a major cause for the problem[11]Pressure for
parents to provide large dowries for their daughters is most intense in prosperous states
where high standards of living, and modern consumerism, are more prevalent in Indian
society.Rates of female foeticide in Madhya Pradesh are increasing; the rate of live births
was 932 girls per 1000 boys in 2001, which dropped to 918 by 2011. It is expected that if
this trend continues, by 2021 the number of girls will drop below 900 per 1000 boys.[

access to Government issued documents. It uses authenticity services provided by Aadhaar.
It is aimed at eliminating the use of physical documents and enables the sharing of verified
electronic documents across government agencies. Three key stakeholders of DigiLocker
are Citizen, Issuer and requester.
attendance.gov.in is a website, launched by PM Narendra Modi on 1 July 2015[3] to keep a
record of the attendance of Government employees on a real-time basis.[21] This initiative
started with implementation of a common Biometric Attendance System (BAS) in the
central government offices located in Delhi.
MyGov.in is a platform to share inputs and ideas on matters of policy and governance.[23] It
is a platform for citizen engagement in governance, through a "Discuss", "Do" and

A digital locker or cyberlocker is an online file or digital media storage service. Files
stored include music, videos, movies, games and other media.[1][2] The term was used by
Microsoft as a part of its Windows Marketplace in 2004.[2] By storing files in a digital
locker, users are able to access them anywhere they can find internet connections. Most
(but not all) digital locker services require a user to register. Prices range from free to paid,
and various combinations thereof.

TXB
The foreign TXB is a global decentralized or Over The Counter (OTC) market for the
trading of currencies. This includes all aspects of buying, selling and exchanging currencies
at current or determined prices. In terms of trading volume, it is by far the largest market in
the world, followed by the Credit market.[1] The main participants in this market are
the larger international banks. Financial centers around the world function as anchors of
trading between a wide range of multiple types of buyers and sellers around the clock, with
the exception of weekends. Since currencies are always traded in pairs, the foreign
exchange market does not set a currency's absolute value but rather determines its relative
value by setting the market price of one currency if paid for with another. Ex: 1 USD is
worth X CAD, or CHF, or JPY, etc..
The foreign exchange market works through financial institutions, and operates on several
levels. Behind the scenes, banks turn to a smaller number of financial firms known as
"dealers", who are actively involved in large quantities of foreign exchange trading. Most
foreign exchange dealers are banks, so this behind-the-scenes market is sometimes called
the "interbank market" (although a few insurance companies and other kinds of financial
firms are involved). Trades between foreign exchange dealers can be very large, involving
hundreds of millions of dollars. Because of the sovereignty issue when involving two
currencies, Forex has little (if any) supervisory entity regulating its actions.
The foreign exchange market assists international trade and investments by enabling
currency conversion. For example, it permits a business in the United States to import
goods from European Union member states, especially Eurozone members, and pay Euros,
even though its income is in United States dollars. It also supports direct speculation and
evaluation relative to the value of currencies and the carry trade speculation, based on the
differential interest rate between two currencies.[2]
In a typical foreign exchange transaction, a party purchases some quantity of one currency
by paying with some quantity of another currency.
The modern foreign exchange market began forming during the 1970s. This followed three
decades of government restrictions on foreign exchange transactions (the Bretton Woods
system of monetary management established the rules for commercial and financial
relations among the world's major industrial states after World War II), when countries
gradually switched to floating exchange rates from the previous exchange rate regime,
which remained fixed as per the Bretton Woods system.

RADIO MIRCHI

Radio Mirchi maintains weekly music charts (or record charts) for India. The most
followed charts are Mirchi Top 20 (Bollywood Songs) and Angrezi Top 20 (English
Songs). Both of these charts are a ranking of recorded music according to popularity. These
charts are published on a weekly basis in the Indian English-language daily newspaper, The
Times of India, and on Radio Mirchi's official website.}

The original avatar of Radio Mirchi was Times FM. Radio Mirchi began operations in 1993
in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Until 1993, All India Radio or AIR, a government undertaking,
was the only radio broadcaster in India. The government then took the initiative to privatize
the radio broadcasting sector. It sold airtime blocks on its FM channels
in Indore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam and Goa to private
operators, who developed their own program content. The Times Group operated its brand,
Times FM, till June 1998. After that, the government decided not to renew contracts given
to private operators.

& Effect of Election

Page | 50
SIP/IBSH/CSI/16BSPHH01C1113
Effect of Elections on Delhi Art Competition

This election is quite different from elections we had in 2009 till now every time during elections it was on basis
of Name of Political parties but this time the pattern has changed instead of getting votes on basis of political
parties this time it is on name of candidate and it is Modi VS Gandhi. This election is crucial as it is election of
worlds largest economy and next government will affect trade and ties on a large level. Cyber Security
Infotech is a company which is in Ethical Hacking and website building so it had a little impact on it following
is things affected.

1 There was a little coordination issue because at elections at different places different
offices were having holiday.

2 There was effect on sales as schools were closed at different localities on different
elections affecting sales at different states at different time which had a little impact.

3 The meetings, conference & business trips were rescheduled because of elections at
different time at different places

4 As Mr. Modi has said if he becomes PM there are many vacancies in Private sector
which will be filled if in long run these jobs are given to eligible people than disposable
income of thousands of households will increase which will can be quite beneficial to IT
industry as a whole.

Page | 51
SIP/IBSH/CSI/16BSPHH01C1113
7 Budget is already presented so even if government changes and they have some good
policies and tax measures for IT industry it will be implemented next year, so policies and
tax structure change in next year will determine the impact on home appliance industry.

8 There is a perception that if Mr. Modi will be PM than the stock market will rise and
specially the power sector companies as a result disposable income of thousands of
households will rise and with higher disposable income the market for IT industry will
have a little growth.

9 Also some deliveries of stock were rescheduled at different places because of elections.

BOTTOM OF PYRAMID (BOP): The Bottom of the Pyramid (BOP) is a concept

that allows us to group to a vast segment which is in excess of about four billion of the
worlds poorest citizens making an invisible and unnerved market. Technically, a member
of the BOP is part of the largest but poorest groups of the world's population who lives
with less than USD 2.50 a day or less than 1500$ an annum. This vast market is still
unexplored and big Multinational cooperates can tap this market through innovations.

FINDINGS &
SUGGESTIONS

Page | 59
SIP/IBSH/CSI/16BSPHH01C1113
FINDINGS & RECOMMEMDATIONS
We can see that Other Event Companies as well Hacking Companies are a lot ahead of us
we need to improve a lot, in survey 26% consumers know about Delhi Art Competition
32% Participated in other Events, 16% Dont know while only 9% Participating in Delhi
Art Competition

We saw that consumers are focusing most on Price, Brand, Features, after sales service,
capacity & Design and color.

Brand awareness (Advertising)

Finding 1

In case of Brand awareness It is seen that company is lacking in awareness regarding Delhi
Art Competition from 72 consumers who gave suggestions 62(86%) said increasing
awareness is required regarding its quality & performance as 61% knew about it but still
didnt Participated in Delhi Art Competition.

Recommendation 1

For this company should focus on both ATL-above the line advertisement and BTL-below
the line advertisement.

The major source of information for consumers is TV advertisements(68%), moreover it is

seen that majority of consumers 72% consumers are between 8 to 25 years of age group so
advertisement should be focused on these consumers they mainly watch family programs,
news & movies therefore most of advertisement should be during these programs.

Target & Incentive

Finding 2

In case of targets also schools said to have targets counter wise that is according to the area
and some targets are unachievable for some schools 30% dealers targets are not fair Cyber
Security to experienced sales guys also other brand is providing a loyalty bonus of 6000/-
INR to sales guy per quarter.

Page | 60
SIP/IBSH/CSI/16BSPHH01C1113
Recommendation 2

Thus in order to motivate their CYBER SECURITY INFOTECH should introduce some
good commission schemes and targets should be given according to area wise as it is
known that an school can do a better business in south Delhi as compared to north Delhi.

Communication
Finding 3

In case of communication also there was a lot of problem with company as 43% people
voted that it is not proper even brand schools dont know that is Delhi Art Competition is
there or not.

Recommendation 3

There should be a micro site made for schools where they can place their complaints &
queries and the time taken to resolve them should be within 10 days.

MAJOR LEARNINGS
My experience at Cyber Security Infotech was a really full of learning with a complete
personality development, I learned time management and networking that would not be
possible anywhere else. Working under the guidance of Mr. Aditya sir,Project Manager of
product planning & market research was an experience full of learning. I came to know a
lot about Branding through Event about its working and different products made by Cyber
Security Infotech and their strategies.

Also by meeting 70 Schools and teachers, commissioner from 4 different zones of Delhi I
learned how to communicate professionally and to get required data as many of the
meetings were of more than 30 minutes some were even of more than 1 hour.

I came to know a lot about various aspects of service, brand equity of Cyber Security
Infotech & about advertisements and various strategies used by different companies to
promote their brands. I never thought that consumer durables would be so much
informative and will give me such a great learning in terms of communication &
personality development.

Also for collecting data from consumers from 4 different zones of Delhi as well Noida
filling Forms Followps was a great experience Mr. Aditya sir guided me a lot about
various schools of Delhi and how each zone is different and consumers are having a
different behavior also Aditya Sir &Rajat Sir answered all my queries clearly and in a
precise manner.

Moreover by communicating with 100 consumers from 4 different zones of Delhi and
getting information from them boosted my confidence and also gave me experience of on
field work initially it was tough but gradually because of support received from Cyber
Security employees I learned a lot about consumer behavior.
