Shiva

Shiva is the Hindu God of destruction, reincarnation and eternal

righteousness, as well as being the Lord of Dance. Taking up one

third of the Hindu Trinity (Trimurti), Shiva is the destroyer of the

world whenever the creation process is over, dissolving the world

into nothingness. Shiva is known for walking into crematoriums and

smearing ashes across his body while dancing in the light of the

funeral pyres. Shiva is the god of the yogis, often depicting

self-control and celibacy accept with his spouse, Parvati. Shiva is

married to the goddess Parvati, the goddess of love, as well as

having two sons by her, Ganesha, the god of good fortune, and

Kartikeya, the scientist and the commander of the army of the gods.

Within his destruction, Shiva gives off a purifying power and opens

a new path for the creation of the new universe.
