I feel more confident with my classroom management, especially with using my teacher
voice. Evidence of it can be found in the written observations done by my TA. However,
the next step to improving on classroom management is to rely on looks, proximity, and
other techniques rather than verbally managing the room.

I used various types of formative assessment during practicum, such as exit slips and
recording videos of the students performing dances. My lesson plans include questions for
formative assessment and/or formative assessment tasks. The next step is to extend the
habit of formatively assessing to regularly doing summative assessments as well, because
I felt that I did not complete summative assessments frequently enough throughout my
grade three unit.

Reflection
I feel quite a bit better about using the Smart Board now that I have had many chances to
interact with it. After downloading a free trial, I created a notebook file based on one my
TA showed me, to practice using the different functions, and used it for two grade two
lessons. I drew on the Smart Board rather than using the whiteboard in my lessons to gain
more practice, and used it to display music for the grade four students to read while
playing recorder. I will continue exploring the different possibilities of the notebook
software while I still have the free trial because I still have many things to learn about it.

Reflection
This part of my life was neglected over the past month and a half. I did not achieve my
goal, but I did attend a few Zumba classes to help with clearing my mind. I got sick twice
and felt drained throughout most of practicum, so I realize that this part of my life should
not be neglected, especially during practicum season.
