D. DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES BASED ON ACTUAL OBSERVATION

Firda Motor workshop is opened every day from 7 a.m to 17 p.m except on
certain major holidays. Every day of this workshop crowded customers. Customer
complaints varied, ranging from minor complaints such as replace engine oil, brake
shoes to replace, tune up, power steering, brake clutch replace up to heavy complaints of
engine overhaul.
An improvement in customer complaints completed or not depends on the damage
there. If minor damage such as replace engine oil, brake shoes to replace, tune up, power
steering, brake clutch can replace awaited and will be completed on the same day. But if
the damage is severe, such as overhaul the engine and others, it takes a long time to
repair existing damage.
Sometimes the obstacles that get in the improvement in purchasing the original
parts of a vehicle is not available at the nearest store, so to get to buy at other stores that
were located quite far from the garage such as a purchase original parts in Solo. For it
takes a long processing time so that in one day has not been able to finish it and resumed
the following day. For the duration of the settlement, the workshop will inform the
customer that on many days the vehicle has been repaired and can be taken so that
customers do not go back and forth to the workshop. After the car was repaired,
customer tries his car. If not satisfied, it will be repaired again. If you are satisfied, then
the customer is required to make payment transactions.
In addition to repairing components on the machine, this workshop also serves
welding on the vehicle body to paint on the vehicle body. On the vehicle body welding
process usually takes approximately four to seven days, depending on the level of
difficulty. While in the process of painting to finish it took ten to fourteen days,
depending on weather conditions occur. In the process of painting there are several stages
that form the body of the vehicle with putty, then priming, drying and smoothing body
car, and then proceed in accordance with the provision of paint colors that consumers
want.

E. HOW TO HAVE TRANSACTIONS AND PAYMENTS

After completion of repairs to the vehicle, the payments transactions are then
performed. For regular customers usually paid in installments or the payments process
may be delayed. But for new customers, process payments in cash or directly
implemented.

F. IMPRESSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS

Impressions
With this observation makes students more aware about the various kinds of care
and maintenance on motor vehicles, especially on the car. Students also learn about a
wide range of welding and painting equipment and know the process of painting the
car body. Besides, it also can increase knowledge and insight for students.
Suggestions
The interior of the garage should be emphasized again because there are still
many working tools are scattered and do not put in place so that it can hinder the work
process. Employees should also focus on occupational safety and health, because it
can increase the effectiveness and productivity of work optimally.
