NOTE: The project is just a concept for a film, not an actual full-length film. The concept is to be
presented in class and should have the following components:
1) Concept presentation:
a) statement and brief discussion of the films moral, aesthetic, cultural, and/or socio-political
purpose
b) outline of the story conceived by the group [the story may be original, or an adaptation of an
existing horror story or film; if the group decides on an adaptation, the title and author/creator
of the adapted text must be cited in the outline]
c) brief explanation of how the storyline meets the purpose stated in a).
NOTE: 2-3 minutes is the preferred length for the trailer, but
group may extend it up to 5 minutes maximum
3) Time allotment per group: 20 minutes maximum for entire presentation, including set-up time
4) Manner of presentation should be moderately formal (i.e., presenters should maintain a dignified
demeanor throughout the presentation, and coordinate their presentation so that it goes smoothly, with
no distracting last-minute verbal and/or physical attempts at organization or coordination on the
sidelines). If group members feel that wearing business attire will help them establish and maintain
dignity, the group is encouraged to dress accordingly.
5) For submission on presentation day: list of group members who worked on the project, with their
specific task assignments indicated. (Members who did not work on the project must not be included in
the list.)
Each presentation will be followed by a 5-10 minute open forum. Members must be ready to answer
questions from the teacher and the class.
