Stint wise process guide
Engineer Leadership Trainees (ELT) undergo 12 months on-the Job training stints on the following
areas:
Design & Engineering
Manufacturing
M&BD
Project Management at project sites across geographies.
Post Graduate Engineer Leadership Trainees (PGELTs) undergo 6 months of ELP and 6 months on
the job training in their respective departments.
4 stints run in parallel as ELTs get divided and sent to different departments.
Each stint ends with Assessment (MCQ Questionnaire + Stint Presentation + VIVA) by Project Guide
& Mentor - Function Head / Project Head / Plant Head.
A brief glimpse into the various stages in the 4 stints & the confirmation process.

Stint Guidelines for ELTs/ PGELTs
During the training program, an ELT/ PGELT needs to capture their learnings during each stint in the
following way:
B. STINT ASSESSMENT
Stint Assessment is one of the key milestones in the ELP. There will be 4 stint assessments conducted
during the training and culmination of those will be done in the Final Review.
b. MCQ
ELT/ PGELT also undergoes MCQ test which has assigned weightages in the Stint Review assessment.
MCQ test for each stint is based on the functional knowledge gained as per OJT checklist.
c. Viva
20
VIVA during the Stint assessment will be based on the ELTs/ PGELTs key learnings during the Stints in
line with the OJT checklist.
d. During the Final Assessment, the Final Stint Review Presentation would be made by an ELT/ PGELT to
Business Heads, Mentor & respective MRM Member, SBU HR & TA Head.
e. Final rating for confirmation would be assigned on the basis of the performance in all the 4
assessments.
The Stint Report Presentation is a document which captures the synopsis of the Stint performed by an
ELT/ PGELT. This document assesses and evaluates the effectiveness of On-the-job learning & how much
an ELT / PGELT has learnt during the stint. This is an important document which gets evaluated by
Project Guide & Mentor as a part of Stint assessment.
Each ELT/ PGELT will be assigned a Project Guide & Mentor during each stint.
o The project guide needs to connect with the ELTs / PGELTs daily & review their learnings
weekly.
o The Mentor needs to connect with the ELTs / PGELTs on a monthly basis & help resolve
concerns/ issues if any. They will guide them on the progress of the report.
Stint Reviews at the end of each stint will evaluate the progress of each ELT/ PGELT. The ELTs/ PGELTs
will be confirmed only if he/she meets the progress benchmark.
The ELTs & PGELTs will be confirmed after duration of 1 year.
21
Policies & General guidelines
ELTs & PGELTs are required to adhere to office timings as applicable in the respective Stint &
Location (Corporate Offices/ Project Sites / Manufacturing plants).

Some common Doubts & Questions related to ELP
1. What is ELP?
Engineering Leadership Program (ELP) is a flagship program of KEC, to nurture and build the
engineering capabilities in our organization by creating a talent pool, which will focus on the
following:
Design and Construction
Project Management
Manufacturing
ELP includes:
On the Job Training (Stints within SBUs at Project Sites/Plants)
Classroom Training/E-Learning (Behavioral, Functional & Technical)
Assessments & Certifications (Stint Level)
24
6. What are the working hours at my deputation location?
Minimum working hours at corporate offices are 9 hrs. At manufacturing plants / project sites the
timings are regulated depending on work load, location of site and weather conditions.
7. How & what are the arrangements for Food at my deputation location (project sites)?
There is no provision of food arrangements by the company at domestic project sites /
corporate/regional office however for most of the International sites, mess arrangement and a cook
(whose salary is paid by the company) is provided. However the expenses of consumables are to be
shared between all employees. Normally the same works out to be around 80-150 USD/month. At
manufacturing locations, mess is available but food expense is to be taken care by individual.
25
14. What all allowances I am eligible for?
You are eligible for allowances as per the stint location like Site Allowance (payable only during
project stint wherever no guest house facility is available), Field Travel Allowance (payable only
during project stint wherever transport facility is not available). You will be given these allowances
at project site/stint location. For international project sites, Site allowance & FTA will be void and
will be entitled to overseas allowance only, which comes along with salary.
