LIFE and WORKS of RIZAL
1st semester, SY 2017-2018

Vision

Data Center College of the Philippines envision itself as one of the leaders in tertiary education in the country consistently producing graduates who are able

IV. Course Description

This is the study of the foremost hero of the Philippines, his works & writings, especially the Noli & Fili, which portray the social cancer of his time.
This course is divided into four parts: the formative years (1861-1882), his travels abroad (1882-1892), his exile and death (1892-1896), and his other writings
found in the appendices.

V. Course Objectives

At the end of the course, the students will be able to:


1. To be able to explain Rizals life, works, ideas, and ideals and discuss how these have influenced the formation of Philippine nationhood.
2. To be able to point out important and pivotal events and factors that helped shape and develop Rizals nationalism.
3. To appreciate the relevance of Rizals teachings and those of other heroes.
4. To discuss, compare, evaluate, and analyze the achievements of Rizal and other heroes in relation to their importance to the life of the Filipino
nation.
5. To manifest respect and reverence for their achievements, ideas, and ideals.
