IRRIGATION
SYSTEMS

Simultaneously with construction of hydroelectric power plants and dams, ENERGOPROJEKT-

NISKOGRADNJA Company proved itself also in construction and engineering of numerous
projects in the eld of land reclamation - irrigation and drainage, river training works, drainage
systems, ood control works, conservation and utilization of ground waters. Contemporary equip-
ment in possesion of the Company enabled execution of large water management systems of
international signicance and acquisition of rich experienece in this eld of construction industry.
Thanks to these projects, thousands of hectars of uncultivated land in different parts of the world
turned into agriculturally cultivated elds.

STRUCTURES

Within its activities ENERGOPROJEKT-NISKOGRADNJA constructs tunnels and underground

structures in all elds of civil engineering: hydroelectric power plants, land reclamation and com-
munication systems. Executing underground works, it applies various contemporary methods
such as New Austrian Method of supporting, mechanized excavation by tunneling machine under
protection of shield, method of lowering water level, as well as soil consolidation by grouting with
cement-bentonite and silicate grout mixes. For construction of underground structures in open pit
as protection classic support such as sheet piles, diaphragms, concrete piles, and other contem-
porary supports are used.

GARAGE IN
BELGRADE
Serbia

The construction of the underground garage in Pionirski Park

was executed in the very centre of Belgrade. The garage
has three levels and 459 parking places. That caused a sig-
nicant realignment of the existing infrastructure. The works
were executed close to the monuments of high cultural and
historical importance.
The structure has a rectangular base, dimensions 47.50 x
97.67m. The structure has three 2.45m high levels.
At its perimeter the structure has reinforced concrete dia-
phragms, thickness d=0.60m at the average depth of 14m
, that are supporting reinforced concrete slabs of all three
levels and decking. Longitudinally, the structure is divided
by internal diaphragms, d=0.60m thick and H=17m deep on
the average, that also support reinforced concrete slabs of
all three levels and decking. The depth of the foundation pit
is 12.3m.
Two trafc ramps, alternate exits, pedestrian exits and re es-
capes, water tanks etc. are the integral part of the structure.

METRO STATIONS IN
ALMATY
Kazakhstan

Almaty

Amaly and Abay metro stations were executed within

the construction of the rst metro line in the city of Almaty,
the Republic of Kazakhstan. These metro stations were
executed in very complex geological conditions, at the
depths of 30m (Almaly) and 70m (Abay), in the city
centre.
Underground metro stations include three tunnel tubes
each having 80-90 m2 cross-sections, mutually connect-
ed with crossings with platform structure and inclined tun-
nels for the access of the passengers. Overall length of
the executed tunnels is 890 m. Almaly metro station is
of column type, while the Abay metro station is of py-
lon type. The structure comprises primary lining executed
by applying NATM method and common secondary rein-
forced concrete lining.
Modied NATM method, with protective screens-pre sup-
port forepoling, made out of perforated steel pipes inject-
ed with cement mix and sprayed concrete primary lining
reinforced with wire meshes and lattice girders, was ap-
plied during the works on underground metro stations.

Within its main activity of hydraulic works construction, ENERGOPROJEKT-NISKOGRADNJA Com-

tures (bridges, tunnels, viaducts, culverts, etc.). During practice of several decades over 5,000 km of
roads, beggining from laterite, unimproved, trunk roads to highways and expressways of the highest
world standard, were constructed. Also many roads and urban communications were constructed
and rehabilitated. For performance of works, methods and equipment for construction of the highest
standard were used.

Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, with Singapore. This is a high class road the route of which passes through
low swampy terrains adjacent to the sea shore opposite to Penang island. Effects of high tide on water
table are great, so the most structures (bridges and pipe culvers) were founded on piles of various
types. All foundations were constructed in ground/water regime.

The Jurija Gagarina Street reconstruction in New

Belgrade also included the construction of a new
railway overbridge that enabled clearing one of
the trafc bottlenecks in Belgrade.
The overbridge structure is made of prestressed

a box cross-section. The overbridge is founded
on reinforced concrete piles, and within the abut-
ments, the revetments were executed as well.
In order to align the new railway with the existing
one, new road bed and railway superstructure
were executed at the given section.
Water supply pipeline, pluvial main drain, tele-
