Instrumentation Cables Solutions:
Instrumentation Cable are single or multi-pair/triple cables designed to carry
signals. They are used for connecting instruments and electrical equipment
especially in plants where process control is required, and where transducer-
generated signals are transmitted through to panels, controllers and other devices.
Twisting of the pairs reduces the amount of electromagnetic interference (EMI)
from external sources or cross talk between neighboring pairs. The construction
with individually shielded pair is typically used for analog signals and the
construction with total shield only is used for digital signals.

Lapp Group is specialized in providing customized cable solutions to the offshore
and marine sectors. Our expertise includes composite electrical and optical
cables for ROVs, seabed vehicle umbilical to ships and submarines. Top drive /
loop cable concept was born due to the increasing need of reducing downtime
during drilling operation. Previously, different types of cables were inserted into
a loop hose, which was subjected to continuous motion. This was more of a stop
gap arrangement as the hose would eventually get tangled due to their heavy
weight and result in stoppage of drilling operations.
Loop cable has eliminated this problem. Instead of using a hose, various cables
are assembled together and form a single cabling unit, with the final layer
being the outer jacket. This resulted in 40% weight reduction and increased life
expectancy of up to 5 years.
