The KN 72 is designed to operate with virtually all navigation receivers. Three different conposite inputs sre provided: A. .SvRMS Input This input accepts VOR composite information at 2 .SYRMS nominal level. Phasing of the composite is such that the SCHz variable signal ig in phase with the 30Hz reference FH Superinposed on the 9960H2 subcarrier on the © radial. This .SVRNS standard ARINC phasing input is compatible with all King Radio Corporation navigation receivers, the Collins VIR 351, ‘the Narco KAV 14 CARING output) and many other navigation receivers. 8, -3VRMS Input This input accepts VOR composite information at 2 -2VRNS level. Phasing of the conposite aopl fed to this input aust have the 30Hz variable phase signal ig phase with the 3OKz reference phase signal used to FM modul ate the 9960Hz subcarrier on the 180° radial. This .3VRKS reversed ARINC phasing input is compatible with the following Narco navigation receivers: Mark 16, Mark 2h, NAV 100, NAV Té, RAV 11, NAV 114, and NAV 111. -TVRMS Input This Input accepts VOR composite information at 2 IVRMS nominal level. Phasing of the VOR composite applied to this input must be reversed ARINC phasing. This SV reversed ARINC phasing Snput (same as for 0.3VRMS described above) is compatible with the following Narco navigation receivers: Mark V, Mark 10, and Hark 12 series. The KM 72 will provide OC voltages to drive ARINC type indicators. Converter drive capability is five 1000 ohw deviation loads, three 1000 ohe flag loads, and three 200 om TO/FROM loads directly, no harness junpering or loading is required regardless of the nunber of driven loads. Significant design features include iaproved VOR scalloping rejecting, versatile mounting, low power consumption, and external ly adjustable VOR centering, local izer centering and course width. The KN 72 fs mechanically similar to the KN 75 glideslope receiver. Both units may be rigid mounted in any plane, Various dual installations of KN 72 and KN 75 are possible. Figure 2-6 shows several mount ing configurations.
