    An experiment measured the mass and remaining syrup volume of an egg over 6 days as it was placed in a syrup solution. On day 1, bubbles formed around the egg. By day 4, the egg was floating and the syrup color had changed. On day 5, the egg had shrunken and sunk. Finally, on day 6 the egg was swollen and had grown in mass again.
