Local Robbery Shocks Village


Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that took place at the village store in
Newbury last night.

Two robbers broke into the village store at 2:25am and threatened the owners, who were
living upstairs. The robbers made off with around 250 from the till as well as a small
quantity of cigarettes and spirits.

The robbers were male, of medium build and around 170cm tall. They were wearing
jeans and balaclavas and escaped from the scene in a dark blue car.

Anyone with information is asked to call Newbury Police Station in confidence.

Burglary at Popular Sports Gym


Last Sunday, there was a burglary at Gregg's Sports Gym in Pine Street. Police think the
burglars entered through an open window in a changing room.

The CCTV footage shows there were two burglars. They were both approximately
180cm tall and average body-size.

The burglars took around 500 and some sports equipment. Police think they left the
place where the burglary happened in a white van.

Police want to talk to people who saw the crime happen. Anyone with information can
