Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

This artifact is a copy of the study guide and unit 1 science test that I used. This unit
was taught for 3 weeks and covered a number of different topics that students were
tested on. This study guide was an opportunity for students to see what they would
remember from the instruction that they were given and to look back in the text book
and find answers. We then went over the study guide as a class and reviewed the
topics so students would be ready for the test. These artifacts show how I understand
and use instructional strategies such as a study guide that are appropriate to the
content area. This study guide was made using the information that students had
learned over the past weeks and will be a tool they can use when studying for their test.

Reflection on the artifact:

This is the way that my science team and I have decided to review for science quizzes. I
would love to find a better way to review with students, but this seems to be very
effective. Sometimes, when time allows, because our science is only about 25 minutes,
students are given the chance to make up a rhyme, poem, or song with the information
to help them remember for the test. This seems to help students as well and I think is a
good instructional tool as well when time allows.
