3.0 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS STUDY

Function System Requirement:

This Section gives a function Requirements that applicable to the online Examination
System. There are three sub Modules in the phase.

Candidate module
Examiner module
Administrator module

The Functionality of each module is as follows:

Candidate module: The candidate module will logon to the software and take his
examination. He can also check his previous examinations marks and his details. The
candidate will get result immediately after the completion of the examination.

Examiner Module: The database is prepared & loaded into the software. Selection for
examination can be done language wise by the examiner. The results will be displayed
immediately after completion of the examination.

Administrator module: The administrator collects the all the results after successful
completion of the examination and sends to headquarters as and when required.

The Features that are available to the Administrator are:

The Administrator has the full-fledged rights over the OES.

Can Create/delete an account.
Can view the accounts.
Can change the passwords.
Can hide any kind of features from the both of users.
Insert/delete/ edit the information of available on OES.
Can access all the accounts of the faculty Members/students.

The Feature available to the Students are:

Can view the different categories of test available in their account.

Can Change password.
Can view their marks.
Can view and modify Results.

The Features available to the Examiner are:

Can view the different categories of test conducted by users.

Can change password.
Can view their marks
Can view and modify Results.

3.1 USER CHARACTERISTIC

The user requirement for this system is to make the system fast, flexible, less prone to
error, reduce expenses and save the time.

Time can be saved by scheduling the exams, if it is available a question bank to

store question for different subjects.
A system can be given a mark by checking the students answer, and give the result
as soon as student finish his exam.
A facility to generate a result chart as required without manual interface.
The system should have records of students and faculty that can be access to the
system which can be used only for the authorized person.
The system should be more secure for management user records and more reliable
to work at any condition.

A OES is an online Web-based application so a client server will be the most suitable
Organizational style for this system. Computer systems will be needed by each of the
actor as well as that user must be connected to the internet.

So, concisely following hardware will be needed.

1. Computer systems
2. Internet availability

3.3.2 Interfaces to Other Applications

Interfaces describe the properties and methods of classes, but unlike classes, do not
provide implementations. The interface statement allows you to declare interfaces, while
the implements statement lets you write code that puts the items described in the interface
into practice.

Interface type:

1. Input Interface
2. Output Interface

It would not be practical for every I/O device to be wired to the computer in a different
way, so we must have a scheme where the hardware connections are fixed, and yet the
communication with the device is flexible, so that the widely varying needs of devices
can all be met.

3.3.3 Reliability Requirements

3.3.4 Safety and Security Consideration

This OES is safe and secure because users will directly contact their account through the
internet. OES will have to identify the valid user according to his/her login details and
password. So it is a difficult task to prevent the system by major disasters by preventing
the unauthorized access to the system.

3.4 ASSUMPTIONS AND DEPENDENCIES

Following are the assumptions and dependencies which are related to this Online
Examination System.

1. This OES is a stand-alone project so it will not affect the system where it will be
embedded.
2. This OES is a web-based project while the staff was addict of using traditional
methods of data storage and retrieval so they will be trained a bit to jump to it.
3. This OES will not depend on any other module. It will be a web-based so everyone
will independently contact it.
4. It is will not affect the environment at all.
5. Team will feel free to adopt it because it will not be so much expensive.
