Paul Sjolund is a leading composer of American
church and choral music. His choral publications
and hymn editions number in the hundreds and
cover a span of some thirty years. He has been
commissioned to write for many of America’s
greatest choirs, and his music is performed in
schools and concert halls throughout the nation,
as well as in churches and cathedrals across all
denominational lines. The range of his style in-
cludes a wide spectrum of majestic anthems, fan-
fares and festival hymns, poignant children’s
music, and exhilarating settings of spirituals and
folksongs. His Christmas and Easter works have
become standard repertoire in every corner of the
USS., and are heard on nationwide television with
consistent regularity. Paul Sjolund’s vast experience in the Church, as well as the
film and television studios, choral fe: and clinics, has established him as
something of a rarity: -A gifted composer who is also a premiere conductor.
Mr. Sjolund is of Swedish ancestry, and wa in 1935
