Admission form
Q1. How can I get Admission Form?
A. Application for Undergraduate Admissions 2017 is available at online Admission
Portal www.neduet.edu.pk/admission which has to be filled online.
Q2. What are the minimum marks required for being considered for the admission?
A. Following table provides details of eligibility for admission:
Candidates having passed /appeared in Degree Programmes Eligible for Application
HSC with following Subjects
60% or above >=55% and <60%

Q3. What to do, if I am unable to register on Admission Portal? Or e-mail address is
already registered? Or User Name and Password not received via email?
A. You have to re-check that either you have already registered with the same e-mail
address or not.
If you did not receive the login information, please check your Junk or Spam folder in
your email.
If problem still persist, please email at admissions@neduet.edu.pk.
Q4. What to do, if I am unable to login with the provided User ID and Password to the
Admission Portal?
A. Make sure to enter the correct User ID and Password, since the password is case
sensitive. Also make sure the difference between 0 and O, L or I which usually
cause password error.
Q5. What if, I am unable to upload my photograph on the Admission Portal?
A. Please make sure that your photograph satisfies the instructions provided in
Guideline for the Application-photograph and should be within the required size and
format.
Q6. How can I pay Application Fee?
A. Following procedure is to be followed for the payment of the application fee:
i) After completing online Application Form, required application fee (including self-
finance/sponsor fee, if applicable) shall be indicated on the same website on a
Transaction Slip/Voucher, which contains an important number called
Transaction ID.
ii) Take a Print-out of Transaction Slip/Voucher and pay the indicated fee at any
branch of banks specified on Transaction Slip/Voucher
iii) It is very important that you take the print out of Transaction Slip/Voucher, as
the payment at the bank will be against that Transaction ID mentioned on the
Transaction Slip/Voucher.
Q7. How would I get my Pre-Admission Entry Test ADMIT CARD
A. After confirmation of receipt of fee at the bank, ADMIT CARD will be made available
on the Admission portal five working days. You can get the admit card after logging in
your Admission portal.
Q8. What to do after passing Pre-Admission Entry Test?
A. You are required to enter your HSC / IBCC Equivalency Marks on the same Admission
Portal and also upload the scanned copy of your HSC / IBCC Equivalency Marks Certificate.
Q9. Where Admission Form can be submitted?
A. After filling in the HSC / IBCC Equivalency Marks, you need to print out the Admission
Form. Sign the Admission Form and a l s o get i t signed from Oath Commissioner.
Admission Form can then be submitted to Admission Office of the University at the
time of Medical Examination. Also submit two sets of photocopies of following
documents along with their originals:
Attested Photocopies
1. Admit Card of Pre-Admission Entry Test 2017
2. S.S.C or Equivalent Certificate and Marks Certificate
3. CNIC / B. FORM
Original to be retained by NED UET
4. HSC or Equivalent Mark Certificate
5. IBCC Equivalent Certificate (For Foreign examinations)
6. Domicile
7. Affidavit of non-political activities
8. Passport size Photographs (02 Nos.)
9. Admission Form (Completely filled and signed).
Additional Documents If applicable
10. Migration Certificate (Other than Karachi Board)
11. Certificate of Hifz-e-Quran

Q10. How can I apply for any additional category?


A. You can apply against any additional category which you are eligible for
i) During initial submission of online Form OR
ii) At any later stage (latest by 11th August, 2017) by entering onto the same link.
Note: Eligibility for admission under each category is as described in Chapter-5 of the
University Prospectus (Soft copy is available at NED University website).
Q11. Do I have to pay any fee for Additional category?
A. No, you may apply for any additional regular category without any additional fee. But if
you are applying for Self Finance Categories than you have to pay additional amount as
mentioned in Prospectus.
Entry Test
Q12. What are the passing marks in Entry Tests?
A. 50% marks are required to qualify and become eligible for admission.
Q13. If I have passed SAT-I and SAT- II exam OR Undergraduate Entry Test 2017 being conducted
by HEC, would I be exempted from NED Entry Test?
A. Yes, provided that you have scored at least 800 in SAT-I and 1500 in SAT-II with
subjects of Physics, Chemistry/Computer Science and Mathematics/Biology.
Candidate must have to submit an application for the exemption to the Chairman
Admission Committee.
In case you have cleared/passed HEC Undergraduate Entry Test 2017, you will be
exempted from NED Entry Test provided you have filled out necessary/required details
in your NED Admission portal.
Q14. When would the Entry test be held?
A. Entry Test will be held on Saturday, 19th August 2017 at 1000 hours in the Main
Campus. Open day and Test for Huffaz for qualified candidates will be on Monday 21st
August 2017.
Q15. When would Entry Test result be announced?
A. Candidate will be provided carbon copy of their answer sheet after the test. On the
same day at 1215 hrs. Answer Key will be displayed on University website. Candidate
can evaluate their results on their own by comparing the carbon copy with the answer
key. Official result will be announced on same day at around 2200 hrs on the NED
University website www.neduet.edu.pk/admission.
Admission Schedule
Q16. When will the merit list be displayed?
A. Date of display of merit list will be available in Admission Schedule on the NED University
website at www.neduet.edu.pk/admission.
Q17. What is the admission schedule?
A. Admission Schedule provides the complete timeline and important events related to the
admission which is available at www.neduet.edu.pk/admission.
Tuition / Semester Fee
Q18. How much is the admission fee?
A. Admission Fee which is to be paid at the time of admission is as under:
i) Rs. 43,800/- for all BE disciplines and BS (CS&IT).
ii) Rs. 45,300/- for B.Arch.
iii) Rs. 58,800/- for all BS programmes except BS (Industrial Chemistry & CSIT).
iv) Rs. 59,800/- for BS (Industrial Chemistry).
Q19. How much is Self-Finance Fee?
A. Self-Finance Fee is as under:
i) It is Rs. 515,000/- for Materials, Metallurgical, Textile, Architecture,
Computational Finance, Applied Physics, Industrial Chemistry, Management
Sciences, Development Studies, Textile Sciences, Economics & Finance and
English Linguistics. For all remaining programmes, it is Rs. 715,000/-
ii) For overseas candidates, NEDAN (NED Alumni Network) seats, sons/daughters
of professional engineers/architects, and certain nominations, it is
Rs. 1200,000/- for all disciplines
iii) For Sponsor Seats SF-11(a) it is Rs. 915,000/-
iv) Candidates applying under categy SF-11(b) i.e. "Self-Support" will have the
option to pay Rs. 200,000/- along with the Admission Form and remaining
amount @ Rs. 100,000/- at the beginning of each subsequent academic year.
Q20. When do I have to pay Self Finance Fee?
A. Self-Finance fee has to be paid along with Application Fee in the same bank at the
time of submission of Application Form latest by 11th August, 2017. In case if Self
Finance fee is not paid along with online Admission Form then the application shall
not be considered against any Self-Finance category.
Q21. What if I will get admission in Regular Scheme, would the self-finance amount be
refunded?
A. Yes, when you opt for Regular Seat, total self-finance fee will be refunded but if you
get admission under Self Finance seat then the amount will not be refunded.
Q22. Does Self-finance fee include tuition fee?
A. No, it does not. Self-finance fee is to be paid once only at the time of admission along
with the regular admission fee.
Q23 Can self-finance fee be submitted in Installments?
A. No, Full Self Finance/Sponsors is required to be paid at once by the due date.
Q24 Do I have to pay in fee in cash or through payment order/demand draft?
A. You can pay fee either in cash or through pay order/demand draft in any branch of the
designated banks.

Admission Requirements
Q25. What documents are required during Medical Fitness Test?
A. You are required to bring Admission form along with all the documents mentioned in
Q6 with an amount of Rs. 1,200/-.
Q26. Do I have to bring another document on the Admission Day?
A. No. All you require is to bring your Admit Card of the Entry Test and Admission Fee as
mentioned in prospectus and Q15.
Q27. Can I pay the admission fee after taking the admission?
A. You will not be admitted unless the admission fee is paid on the day of
interview/admission.
Q28. Can anyone having HSC Pre-Medical, apply for only Bio-Engineering programme.
A. Anyone having HSC Pre-Medical from Karachi Board or A-Level or Aga Khan Board
can apply for Bio-Medical Engineering, Food Engineering, Development Studies and
English Linguistic programmes.
Q29. Can anyone having passed HSC Commerce examination apply for admission?
A. Anyone having HSC Commerce can apply for BS Management Sciences, BS
Development Studies and BS English Linguistic against the seats allocated under
certain categories. For further details, please see chapter-5 of the University
Prospectus.
Q30. Can anyone having passed HSC Pre-Engineering examination with Physics,
Mathematics and Computer Science eligible for admission?
A. Yes, they are eligible for admission in Telecommunication, Electronics, Computer
Systems, Software Engineering and in certain BS programmes (on merit: subject to
availability of seats). Any candidate who has passed HSC examination with Statistics,
Mathematics and Computer Science are eligible for admission in BS Management
Sciences and Development Studies (on merit: subject to availability of seats). For

Miscellaneous
Q31. Where Bachelor of Architecture and BS Development Studies classes are held?
A. Classes for Bachelor of Architecture and BS Development Studies are held in City
Campus which is adjacent to Govt. DJ Science College, whereas Bio-Medical
Engineering and Food Engineering classes are held in LEJ Campus situated opposite to
Liaquat National Hospital.
Q32. Is there any Shuttle Bus Service available for City Campus and LEJ Campus?
A. No. Some of the shuttle buses pass in front of these campuses. In addition, one
shuttle bus departs from main campus at around 0800 hrs every day for City Campus
via LEJ Campus.
Q33. What is the duration of degree programmes offered by the University?
A. All programmes are of four years duration except of Bachelors in Architecture which is
of five years duration.
Q34. What is the fee for Pre-Admission Entry Test?
A. The fee for Pre-Admission Entry Test is Rs.3500/- only which is not refundable.

Q35. Why order of disciplines is being asked at Step-5 in Admission portal?


A. It will ease out the discipline selection process at the time of interview.
