Step 1. Problem discovery


1.1 What is Pecks problem? (manager)
= She ran the business lose a profit. McBride and Peck both realized this was a
symptom and they began exploring causes for the projected losses.

1.2 What is McBrides problem?(researcher)


= She missed to conduct the research. She did not collect the data carefully.

1.3 What is research objective?


= Determine the rank-order preferences for entertainment groups among residents, 16
years of age and older, in the two-county service area of the Metro Civic Center.

Step 2. Exploratory research


2.1 How dose McBride conduct exploratory research?
= McBride had to decide on the basic blueprint for the research. Exploratory research,
as usual, had been used in helping to properly define the problem.
She also conducted the research by the survey that can be taken at one point in time or
at multiple times.

2.2 How many methods used under exploratory research and what are those methods
(explain in detail)?
= - Experience survey, McBride decided to use the experience survey to conduct the
research by sending E-mail survey to people of 2 countries.

2.3 How many people that they collect data in each method?
= few people of those 2 countries.

Step 3. Descriptive research


3.1 How does McBride conduct descriptive research?
= McBride used WebSurveyor, computer-assisted questionnaire design software that
help her compose the question and capture it in electronic format.

3.2 How many sample and why must be that number?


= Sample of 400 responds for the survey. Because they wanted to be 95 percent
confident that the survey results would be within 5 percent of the true population's
percentage preference for entertainment groups.

4.1 What sampling technique does McBride use?
= McBride is assured of a representative sample because Knowledge Networks used
a probability sampling plan to recruit its panel members. By probability sampling plan

5.1 How does McBride collect data?
= She used Knowledge Networks to collect the data. Knowledge Networks provided
McBride with information on how many respondents had been sent the survey and
how many responded to the survey

6.1 What are the results found?
= the results found that which types of entertainment event should be and what the
people need in the event.

6.2 How do the results from McBrides research help solve Pecks problem?
= The results from McBrides research help Peck by showing new information and
hidden details which Peck has no idea to improve the marketing plan.
Finally, the event had drawn 12,500 persons and that the next two events scheduled
were sold out
