How to Make a Playdough

Play-Doh is a modelling compound used by young children for art and craft projects at
home and in school. It is composed of flour, water, salt, boric acid, and mineral oil. The non-
toxic, non-staining, reusable modeling compound that came to be known as "Play-Doh" was
invented by Noah McVicker.
Everyone loves Play-Doh. It is a classic childhood toy everyone can have fun with. Its so
easy to make and youll never need to buy Play-Doh at the store again. To make your own
version of Play-Doh, all you need are a few simple ingredients that you probably already have at
home.
Materials:
2 Spoons
2 Containers
Ziplock/Plastic Bag
All Purpose Flour
Iodized salt
Water
Vegetable Oil
Food coloring
Procedures:
1. Add 4 tbsp. of flour on one container.
2. Add 2 tbsp. of iodized salt.
3. Mix the flour with the salt.
4. On another container, pour 1/8 cup of water.
5. Add 4 to 5 drops of food coloring.
6. Add a tablespoon of vegetable oil.
7. Add the dry ingredients to the liquid mixture.
8. Mix it well.
9. Put some flour on your working area and play a little with the dough until you get the
perfect consistency.
10. Store this dough in an airtight container or a Ziplock bag.

This playdough is completely non-toxic, so its especially great for young children. This
playdough is not just for kids but is also great for adults. Playdough is the inexpensive and
colorful alternative of stress balls. The effects of all that squeezing are great for stress relief and
can feel extremely therapeutic.
