Synopsis
The objectives of this technical visit are to observe some areas of interest covering engineering plants and systems, as well
as the energy saving initiatives of a general hospital which is managed by UEM Edgenta Sdn Bhd, an IFM consortium.
Among the topics covered are:
1) ACMV for Operation Theatres, Negative and Positive Isolation Rooms
2) Fire Protection System
3) Medical Gas System
4) UPS and IPS
5) Genset and MSB Rooms
6) Chiller Plant
7) Master Clock
8) Nurse Call System
9) Building Management System (BMS)

Speakers Profile
Ir. Hj. Mazlan Yusoff
MAZLAN YUSOFF graduated in B.Eng. (Hons), majoring in Mechanical Engineering from Mara Institute of Technology, Shah
Alam in 1997. By profession, he is a Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate registered with Board of Engineer
Malaysia (BEM ~ PE No: C115650), a Corporate Member of Institute Engineer Malaysia (IEM No: 24856), Registered
Electrical Energy Manager (REEM) registered with Energy Commission, Passed Part 1 as an Assessor for Indoor Air Quality
with DOSH, Industrial Gas Trainee with University Teknologi Malaysia and a Certified Energy Manager registered with
AEMAS. Prior joining Edgenta Mediserve Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Faber Medi Serve Sdn. Bhd.), he was working with
Engineering Consultant for 2 years and then with the Engineering Division of Ministry of Health for 3 years. He began his
career with Faber Medi-Serve Sdn Bhd as an Assistant Facility Manager at Ipoh General Hospital, and then as a Facility
Manager at Slim River Hospital. In 2006, Faber Group Berhad had adventured into the new project in United Arab of
Emirates. He was then appointed as a Project Manager for UAE Project from 2006 till 2011. During five (5) years of
experience in UAE, he had been involved and responsible for the Hospital Maintenance and the Low-Cost Housing project
in Abu Dhabi. He gained very valuable experience especially in managing the various projects under the Authorities of Abu
Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Besides performed as a Project Manager, he was also involved in the cost project evaluation
for the tender exercise with Abu Dhabi Authorities. In 2011, he back to Malaysia and was assigned as a Facility Manager at
Taiping and then in 2014 moved to Head Quarter as a Head of Sustainability Program (Energy Management, Indoor Air
Quality and 3R). In 2016 & 2017, there were few projects undertaken by him such To Design, Installation and
Commissioning of Magnetic Chiller System for Hospital Sg. Siput where the project was funding by Kettha, To Design,
Installation and Commissioning of Chiller & Lighting System for Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) at Teluk Intan
Hospital, lead a team to perform Detailed Energy Audit and establishment of Indoor Air Quality for hospitals in Perak,
Kedah, Penang and Perlis. Over more than 20 years of working experience in the Facilities Management Services, he has
been specializing in Mechanical & Electrical Design and Maintenance of the System and Equipment, able to analyze and
Accountability on Profit and Loss, Leader on Project and Asset Management, continuously engaged with QSHE Program and
trained for Customer Oriented.
