SHOOT THE MESSENGER

I know that green chili makes everything taste better and that New Mexico has the most beautiful
sunsets and rich, diverse culture. I also know how it feels to leave your family and life-long friends
because career opportunities do not exist for you as a young professional. I am from Albuquerque.

I attended Osuna Elementary, Madison Middle School, Sandia High School and University of New Mexico
(UNM). After over five years working in Albuquerques real estate community, I moved to Los Angeles
to further my education at the University of Southern California (USC). Unfortunately after graduating
from USC, New Mexicos economy could not provide the opportunities my young family needed, so we
now live in Arizona along-side many others from New Mexico.

Since my Op-Ed I have received hateful, threatening emails and phone calls from some of Mr. Kellers
supporters. They shared that Mr. Keller and his campaign managers Mrs. Holguin and Mr. Packman had
all sent out press releases and flooded social media with WAR CRYS to attack Jeff Garrett an Arizona
developer for supporting the false and disgusting ads that shared Mr. Keller had voted Yes for
legislation that protected Sex Offenders.

Dont fall for the Keller Campaign Operatives distraction strategy of SHOOT THE MESSENGER. Tim Keller
committed the crime and voted YES to protect Sex Offenders over the community, not Jeff Garrett.

Kellers claim that the accusation are false is ridiculous. The Synopsis of Bill from the Fiscal Impact
Report (FIR) states SB184 enacts a new section of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act
(SORNA) to prohibit any city, county, municipality or other political subdivision of the state from
imposing distance restrictions on sex offenders place of residence or create an exclusionary zone for
sex offenders. Keller makes the false claims.

Mr. Keller shamefully attempts to use the FIR for the Pro-Sex Offender legislation he supported to
defend his disgusting actions. Nowhere in the FIR does it state that the Attorney General supported
SB184. Further, Mr. Keller half quotes the Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) from the FIR by
half-quoting the SOMB. The sentence before his SOMB quote in the FIR reads The SOMB believes that
offenders are safer when they have jobs, homes, friend and family, and access to treatment. When the
SOMB statement is read in full it is obvious that Kellers defensive quote of restrictions has had a
destabilizing impact refers to having a destabilizing impact on offenders not the community or the
victims as Mr. Keller implies in his deceitful response.

The purpose of the State Auditor (Auditor) office is to ensure that the financial affairs of every agency
are examined and audited each year. In his many news releases Mr. Keller attempts to trick you that as
Auditor he is actually solving problems. He merely conducts financial audits of governmental agencies.
As Auditor he is an arm chair quarterback that tells everyone that they are doing wrong but does not
provide any actual solutions. Maybe the Auditor job is where he learned how to convert cash campaign
contributions into In-Kind contributions. Mr. Keller had his chance to set and implement government
policy as a New Mexico Senator. He left his Senate seat for State Auditor.
I hope that Mr. Keller comes clean to the good citizens of New Mexico and sits down with an
investigative reporter and shares more about his YES vote to protect sex offenders over our community,
how the cash contributions to his campaign are In-Kind contributions (all the candidates running for
political offices should benefit from this if it is truly legal), his campaigns involvement with the ABQ
Forward Together MFC and why he changed from a life-long registered Republican to Democrat.

Then we will know where hateful, threatening emails and phone calls should be directed.

That isnt the green chili upsetting your stomach, its the truth.
