D49 kajang, Catchment Area.

D49 KAJANG CATCHMENT GENERAL BRIEF.

During Tender submission, total PE for D49 Catchment is 250,000 PE; which comprising of
115,000 PE of Kajang 1 and 135,000 PE of Kajang 3.
Refer to the schematic diagram attached, K1 Catchment consists of 4 nos of proposed pump
stations which are named NPS1, NPS7, NPS8 and NPS9. Therefore during tender submission,
only 1 no of pump station is submitted under Kajang 1 catchment, which is NPS1. Total PE
for NPS1 is remained same from tender submission to PDC1 submission, which is 115,000
PE. Meanwhile during design stage referring to survey drawing details, Consultant introduce
3 additional pump stations (NPS7, NPS8 & NPS9) to optimize the network scheme so that
the depth ranges are not very deep. Thus, total pump head at NPS1 is reduced and
operational team find less difficulty in maintaining the pump station due to shallower depth.
For Kajang 3 catchment, there are 5 nos of proposed pump stations which are called NPS2,
NPS3, NPS4, NPS5, and NPS6. NPS6 (1,000 PE) is under K3-1 sub-catchment and is a new
pump station during PDC1 submission. For NPS5 which is under K3-2 sub-catchment, the
design PE during tender submission is 2,000. Therefore during PDC1 submission, Consultant
has design NPS5 to cater flow for 1,000 PE. Another 1,000 PE is diverted to K3-1 sub-
catchment sewer network pipes due to more suitability and accessibility. Total PEs from
NPS6 and NPS5 will diverted to NPS4.
For discrepancies of PE at NPS4, total PE during tender submission is 17,000 while during
PDC1 submission is 15,000. After considering all PEs from growth area and PDC1
submission, final total PE for NPS4 is 15,000.
For NPS3 under K3-3 sub-catchment, total PE during tender submission is 15,000 while
during PDC1 submission is 10,000. This discrepancy of 5,000 PE is due to IST and future
growth areas that bounded between K3-3 and K3-4 sub-catchments. However during design
stage with survey info studies, Consultant finalise that the 5,000 PE of IST and future growth
areas will be connected to K3-4 sub-catchment under sewer network pipes due to suitable
terrain and topography. Therefore, NPS3 design can cater PE for 10,000.
Final PE of D49 catchment after revising PEs of the proposed pump stations remain same as
250,000 as per Need Statements.
