Needs Checklist Item Done Comments Work General Is the resume one page? Is your first impression that the resume is simple, easy to follow? Header Section Is the font of the name slightly larger/bolder than the rest of the text? Is there one mailing address, one phone number and one email address? Is the email address professionally acceptable? Education Section Is it clear which degrees from which schools the person has earned/is earning? Are the dates in reverse chronological order? For a degree that is currently being pursued, is the expected graduation date used (not dates of attendance)? If a GPA is included is it above 3.0? Are the official titles of schools, degrees, majors, concentrations, etc. used? Projects Section (if applicable) Does this section include 2-4 projects? Does each project have a short, descriptive title? Does each project include the year(s)? Is each description 3 lines maximum? Does each project include the languages and/or technologies used? Is it clear what was produced in each project? Focus should be on the product what is a user able to do now that he/she couldnt do before? Additional Experience & Awards Section (if applicable) Does this section include 1-4 bullet points? Does each bullet point include a short, clear title? Does each bullet point include the year(s)? Is each description 1-2 lines (1 should be sufficient in most cases)? Does every bullet point bring value to the resume? Languages and Technologies Section (if applicable) Is there one bullet point for languages and one bullet point for technologies? Is a level of proficiency designated for each language and/or technology? Are only related, specialty technologies listed (i.e. not Microsoft Word)? Employment Section (if applicable) Are the position, the employer, and the dates clear for each entry? Are the entries listed in reverse chronological order? Does each entry include 1-5 bullet points (fewer for less relevant positions)? Are the bullet-points focused on accomplishments? If not, how can they be improved? Are the bullet-points quantified? If not, how can they be improved? Do you have a good understanding of the persons experience? Mechanics Are there any spelling errors? Is punctuation consistent? Are there any grammar issues? Overall Impression Is the design of the entire resume easy to follow? Is it clear the person meets the qualifications for the job or type of job for which they are applying? Other comments:
