FOCUS
Countries in the world these days seem to be shocked by the presence of
a new religious group based on Islam. This group of religions is considered by
the International Countries is a radical religious group, some even mention that
this group is a terrorist. Some call it Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL),
Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), and some call it Islamic State in Iraq and
al-Shm (also abbreviated ISIS) is a country and militant group of jihad Not
recognized in Iraq and Syria.
This ISIS seems to be a big and new problem for international countries.
This is because ISIS is a group supported and founded by various Sunni insurgent
groups, including the Mujahidin and Al-Qaeda Shura Council in Iraq (AQI),
including the Jaysh al-Fatiheen rebels group, Jund al-Sahaba, Katbiyan Ansar Al-
Tawhid wal Sunnah And Jeish al-Taiifa al-Mansoura, and a number of tribes
claiming to be Sunni. ISIS is known for having strong interpretations or
interpretations of Islam and teaching violence to achieve its goals, such as through
suicide bombings, torturing and beating disagreeing people, and by looting the
banks. The target of ISIS attacks is directed mainly towards Shia Muslims.
The development of ISIS movement is also felt by the nation of
Indonesia, where there are already our brothers who pledge that they join the ISIS
group is even they invite other Indonesian citizens to want to join them. For more
details will be discussed in this magazine.

OPINION 1
How ISIS jihadists are formed?
ISIS was formed in April 2013 and its forerunner came from al-Qaida in
Iraq (AQI), but was later denied by al-Qaeda.The group became the main jihadist
group fighting government troops in Syria and building military forces in Iraq.

Who is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi?

The organization is headed by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Little is known

about him, but he is believed to have been born in Samarra, north of Baghdad, in
1971 and joined rebels that broke out shortly after Iraq was invaded by the United
States in 2003. In 2010 he became al-Qaeda's leader in Iraq, one of the later ISIS
groups. Baghdadi is known as a war commander and tactical expert, analysts say
it makes ISIS attractive to young jihadists alleged by al-Qaeda, led by Ayman al-
Zawahiri, an Islamic theologian.

Source of funds

Unlike the rebels in Syria, the ISIS looks set to establish Islamic caliphs in
Syria and Iraq. The group appears to have succeeded in building military strength.
In 2013, they captured the city of Raqqa in Syria - which is the first provincial
capital ruled by a shrill. June 2014, ISIS also controls Mosul, which shocks the
world. The US says the fall of Iraq's second largest city poses a threat to the
region. The group relies on funding from wealthy individuals in Arab countries,
especially Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, which support the battle against President
Bashar al-Assad. Currently, ISIS is said to have controlled a number of oil fields
in the eastern region of Syria, reportedly selling back the oil supply to the Syrian
government. ISIS also mentioned selling antiques from historic sites.
OPINION 2
BATTLING ISIS IN INDONESIA
The attack that killed four civilians and four terrorists in central Jakarta last
Thursday may be a harbinger of more violence to come. It certainly suggests that
ISIS, which claimed responsibility, has already transformed the terrorism threat
in Indonesia, after years of mostly foiled plots.
Indonesia, the country with the worlds largest Muslim population, has a
tiny jihadist movement relative to its size. then ISIS emerged, and suddenly there
was the potential for Indonesian extremists to go to Syria and get military
training, combat experience, ideological indoctrination and international
contacts. What had become a low-level threat became more serious again.
Thursdays attacks were reportedly organized and funded by Bahrun Naim,
an Indonesian computer expert said to be in Syria. Last August, three men were
arrested in Solo, in central Java, for planning to bomb a police post, a church and
a Chinese temple on Mr. Naims instructions. In December, four more of Mr.
Naims men were picked up for plotting attacks against senior police officials and
Shiite institutions.
The need for more preventive measures has therefore become pressing.
One necessity is plugging the holes in Indonesias anti-terrorism law, which at
present does not ban membership in ISIS or similar organizations, or participation
in terrorist-training camps abroad. Even when the Indonesian police know that
individuals are actively recruiting for ISIS, they have few legal tools to stop them.
The government must also develop a program for deportees who have been
returned to Indonesia. The Indonesian government must work with local civil
society organizations to draw these people into new social networks. But with
ISIS now clearly present as a new threat, the government must urgently develop
more programs to prevent its appeal from spreading.

TIPS

SHORT STORY
Sangkuriang
One day, when he was hunting, Sangkuriang accidentally killed his
beautiful black dog (Si TUMANG). This dog is actually Sangkuriang's father who
had been condemned to live the life of a dog by his GURU. However,
Sangkuriang never knew it.
Sangkuriang had been separated by his mother since childhood. Yet, he
was destined to meet his mother again. When on his way home, he stopped at a
small village and met and fell in love with a beautiful girl. He didn't realised that
the village was his homeland nor that the beautiful girl was his own sacred mother
(remain young & pretty).
Their love grew naturally and one day, when they were discussing their
wedding plans, Dayang Sumbi suddenly realised that the profile of Sangkuriang's
head matched that of her only son's who had left twenty years earlier. How could
shee marry her own son? But she did not wish to dissapoint him by cancelling the
wedding. So, although she agreed to marry Sangkuriang, she would do so only
on the condition that he provide her with a lake and a boat with which they could
sail on the dawn of their wedding day.
Sangkuriang accepted this condition and built a lake by damming the
Citarum river. Wiath a dawn just moment away and the boat almost complete,
Dayang Sumbi realised that Sangkuriang would fulfill the condition she had set.
With a wave of her supernatural shawl, she lit up the eastern horizon with flashes
of light. Deceived by false dawn, the cock crowed and farmers rose for the new
day.
With his work not yet complete, Sangkurinag realised that his endeavour
were lost. With all his anger, he kicked the boat that he himself had built. The
boat fell over and, in so doing become the mountain TANGKUBAN PARAHU
(in Sundanese, TANGKUBAN means upturned or upside down, and PARAHU
means boat). With the dam torn assunder, the water drained from the lake
becoming a wide plain and nowaday became a city called BANDUNG (from the
word BENDUNG, which means Dam)
