Students will make a 3.5-4 inch high coffee mug out of red terra cotta clay.

Grading Criteria:
5 points for Pinch Pot Construction: a nicely formed pinched pot, thick and is of even thickness
5 points for Handle :Handle is a usable size and has been correctly and neatly scored, slipped and blended. Reinforced
with a anchor coil where it attaches to the base. It is not cracked or too large or too small.
5 points for Foot: is attached correctly, by scoring and slipping is blended well and provides a study base for the mug.
5 points for Clean-up Project has been scraped thinner, then smoothed and clean up, rim is trimmed, even and
rounded . It was obvious time and care went into the clean up.
5 points for Glazing: Student correctly applied the under glaze and clear coat, Good choice of glaze colors enhance
the surface of the project.
