APPOINTMENT OF INSURANCE OMBUDSMEN.

The Office of the Executive Council of Insurers, Mumbai invites applications for
Appointment of Insurance Ombudsman at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai,
Chandigarh, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi and Mumbai from persons who fulfill
the following eligibility criteria.

Minimum A person should have at least 25 years experience in Insurance


Eligibility industry at senior level with last position held at most one level
below Board.
OR
Persons who have retired or are soon to retire from Civil or
Administrative services of Government of India. The candidate
should have held a post of Joint Secretary or equivalent in the
Government of India or any equivalent post in Civil or
Administrative services of Government of India
OR
Persons who have retired or are soon to retire as District & Sessions
Court Judge or Judge of MACT equivalent to District & Sessions
Court Judge or equivalent Courts or High Court Judge.
Age Not less than 58 years and not more than 62 years as on 16.08.2017.
Re-appointment of An Ombudsman who has completed full three year term and is not
Ombudsman more than 64 years as on 16.08.2017 is also eligible to apply.

The interested applicants may clearly indicate their willingness to work at any of the
locations mentioned herein above.

Last date for receipt of applications is 16.08.2017.


The Ombudsman selected may be appointed at any of the Centres.

The Insurance Ombudsmen shall be paid basic of Rs. 2,25,000/- p.m. and consolidated
allowance as approved by the Competent Authority. The Gross Pension (before
commutation) would be recovered from the Central/ State Government servants.

The candidates shall be shortlisted as per guidelines issued/adopted by the Competent


Authority. The Selection of candidates will be made by a Selection Committee constituted
as per provisions of the Insurance Ombudsman Rules, 2017.

An Ombudsman shall be appointed after satisfactory vigilance clearance from the


immediate previous employer and medical fitness report from Doctors who are Divisional
Medical Referee or Zonal Medical Referee of LIC.

The interested applicants shall send an application in the attached format which should be
accompanied by a CV (mandatory) giving full details (refer to foot note No. 4 of
application form) at the following address so as to be received in the Office of Executive
Council of Insurers on or before 16.08.2017. In addition candidates may also e-mail the
