Expectations at Different Year levels
Seesaw
Hillcrest Normal School is using Seesaw this year! Seesaw gives your child creative tools to capture
and reflect on their learning - in real time. Then this work is shared with you. Seesaw will give you a
window into each of our classrooms and into your students learning process. Our students are
excited to use this new tool in partnership with the great things our teachers do in their classrooms.

We need your help with Seesaw to ensure success at Hillcrest Normal School. You can download
Seesaws Parent App for iOS, Android, or use the web to view your students learning artifacts. When
your child adds new work, you will receive a notification to see, hear and respond to your childs
learning item. You only have access to your own childs work and all of the content is stored securely.

You will hear from me and in the newsletter when you can login to your childs account. This is an
exciting new initiative and we are looking forward to sharing your childs learning throughout the year.
This will become an eportfolio for your child and replaces the paper record of learning.

Lets have a quick look at Seesaw

Contacting me - Expectations
Emails are a great way for us to communicate and I will inform you of happenings relevant
to the class.
Please do not send daily reminders for children to me in class time - all requests must go
to the office. This includes all absences.
As teachers, we are not always able to respond to emails during the school day and never
during in class learning time.
I will respond to emails within a reasonable time frame and generally this may not be
during weekends or out of school working hours.
If you have a major concern it is always preferable to make a time to speak directly, firstly
to your childs teacher and if necessary, a member of the senior leadership team.
