Section A: Directed Writing

You are a reporter for your school newspaper. You have been asked to write a report to the
school principal on an incident that occurred in one of the school laboratories recently.

Use the notes below to write your report.

Fire in the school laboratory

At 1.15 pm
Leak in one of the Bunsen burners hissing sound
Minor explosion and fire broke out
Three students seriously injured, ten others suffered minor burns
One student badly burned critical condition
Teacher was out of the class
Teacher used fire extinguisher
Tables, chairs and laboratory equipment destroyed
Loss estimated at RM15000

give two steps to stay safe during fire incident
