environment,includingwithoutlimitation:roleplayanddemonstrationbytrainedvolunteer,theuseofandaccesstothe
DepartmentofEducationwebsitetoolsforparents,assistancewithnutritionalmealplanningandpreparationandother
strategiesorcurriculadevelopedoracquiredbytheschooldistrictforathomeparentalinstructionapprovedbythe
DepartmentofEducation.

4.HowwillyourschoolworkwithparentstocreateaSchoolParentCompact?

Parentswillbeaskedtosignthestudenthandbook,whichdetailsexpectationsoftheschoolanddistrict.

The#weareonecommitteewillencourageparents,students,facultyandstaffofCJHS,andothermembersofthe
communitytojoinforcestodevelopaplanforcontinuedstudentacademicandbehavioralsuccess.

ParentswillbeencouragedtovolunteerfortheParentInvolvementPlan,toserveonthePAWScommittee,toassist
withathletics,finearts,academicclubssuchasBetaClubandFFA,studentledorganizations.

5.Howwillyourschoolprovideopportunitiesforparentstobeinvolvedinthedevelopment,

CJHSwillencourageparentstoparticipateinaschoolculturesurveyduringtheschoolyear.Theresultsofthe
surveyareporedoverbythedistrict,faculty,andstaff,andaschoolimprovementplanwillbedevelopedbasedonthe
datafromthesurvey.Addressingtheseneedswillcontinuetoimprovestudentachievement.

CJHSwillinviteparentstoserveonschoolcommitteesthatimplementplansandprocedures.

Theschoolwillinvolveparentsonschoolimprovementplanningcommittees.Tosupportthisprocess,theschoolwill
offerbothschoolstaffandparentstrainingonhowtocontributetothisprocessinameaningfulway.

Totakeadvantageofcommunityresources,theschoolshallconsiderrecruitingalumnifromtheschooltocreatean
alumniadvisorycommissiontoprovideadviceandguidanceforschoolimprovement.

CJHSwillmaintainourPAWSprogramthatwillfosterparentalandcommunityinvolvementwithintheschool.

6.Howwillyourschoolprovideresourcesforparents?

CJHSwillprovidethefollowinginformationtoparentseachyear:acopyoftheschool'sparentalinvolvementplan,
surveyforvolunteerinterests,recommendedrolesforparents/teachers/studentsandschool,suggestionsofways
parentscanbecomeinvolvedintheirchild'seducation,parentalinvolvementactivitiesplannedforthecurrentschool
yearandinformationaboutthesystemthatwillbeusedtoallowparentsandteacherstocommunicate(notes,phone
calls,email).

CJHSwillpromoteandsupportresponsibleparenting.

CJHSwill,asfundsareavailable,purchaseparentingbooks,magazines,andotherinformativematerialsregarding
responsibleparentingthroughtheschoollibrary,advertisethecurrentselection,andgiveparentstheopportunityto
borrowthematerialsforreview.

CJHSwillincludeintheschool'spolicyhandbooktheschool'sprocessforresolvingparentalconcerns,includinghow
todefineaproblem,whomtoapproachfirst,andhowtodevelopsolutions.

Theprincipalwilldesignate(1)certifiedstaffmemberwhoiswillingtoserveasaparentfacilitator(ShariMcGehee).
