Quality Control, Pressure Test and Operation Torques

PRESSURE TESTS:

Gate valves/Fire hydrants for water

Hydraulic test according to DIN 3230 part 4,

and BS 5163 - 1986
Shell test: Water test pressure 1.5 x PN (BS, DIN),
2.0 x PN (AWWA C509)

Seat test: Water test pressure 1.1 x PN (BS)

1.0 x PN (DIN, AWWA C509)
Seat tests are done from both
sides and with one end open.

Gate valves for gas

According to DIN 2470 part 1,

and DIN 3230 part 5.
The product shall pass the above
specified test for water first.
Shell test: 0.5 bar air (PG2, PG3)
1.5 x PN water (PG2, PG3)
1.1 x PN air (PG3)
Seat test: 0.5 bar air (PG2, PG3)
1.1 x PN air (PG3)

Seat tests are done from both sides and with one end open.

The production of all series in the AVK-programme are controlled in accordance with the procedures and
specifications laid down in the AVK-QUALITY MANUAL.
