JANUARY 11 Exploring the Nature of Infinity: Dr. Timothy Melvin-SRJC

Infinite means not finite, but what if there are different levels of
infinity? What does it even mean for there to be different levels of
infinite. Join us as we explore the paradoxical nature of infinity and
enjoy snacks from Piner Culinary that are out of this world !

FEBRUARY 8 Art & Technology--Pixar style : Paul Topolos

How are these amazing animations made ?? Tonight we will get up
close and personal with Paul Topolos as he takes us backstage to
wander in the world of matte painting and green screens . In the after
cafe will be using computer simulations and coding to explore the
physics and math being used at the Pixar studios.

MARCH 15 Beyond the Brooklyn Bridge: Allan Tilton P. E.

Curious how suspension bridges work as an engineered system ??
Tonight we explore this historical feat and the dynamic cast of
characters including Emily Warren Roebling- a distinguished engineer
in her own right. Our own students will perform the Demonstration of
the Firth of Fourth in the after cafe !
APRIL 12 Keys to Innovation : Dr. Ransom Stephens-
The route from problem to solution is a swirling path with Aha! moments
lighting the way. In this presentation, we examine the neural processes that
percolate insights into consciousness: the physics of lateral thought, the
power of perspective, the value of novelty, and how your brain selects and
rejects ideas before youre even aware of them.

MAY 24 STEM/STEAM Symposium- Annual Student Showcase

Students will present their STEM portfolio work:
-Level 2 community based projects-job shadow/internship/S4 Rockets
-Level 3 Independent Research & Design projects.
Awards ceremony to follow ( 8pm)
