OBJECTIVES

To compute for the unknown currents and voltages using DC analysis

method.
To measure the currents and voltages using the multisim software.
To compare the values between computed and experimental if they were close
to each other.
To determine the total voltage gain (AvTotal) of the cascode amplifier
configuration.
Lastly is to determine the maximum input voltage (Vi) and the maximum
output voltage (Vo) of the circuit through the use of its waveform in the
oscilloscope.
To check whether the waveform is in-phase or out-of-phase.

INTERPRETATION OF DATA

As I noticed when we performed the laboratory activity, we first arranged

and convert the cascode amplifier configuration to its DC form to solve for the

unknown voltages including the VB1 and VB2. Of course solving also for the

unknown currents which includes the IE 1, IE2, IC1, and IC2.

All the currents are the same for this configuration, since we noticed its current

relationships between each other. Then after solving all of the unknowns using dc

analysis method, we proceed now on converting the circuit into its AC equivalent

model to solve for the Av1, Av2, AvTotal and lastly the Vo.

CONCLUSION

We conclude that the cascode amplifier configuration have similarities to

cascade amplifier configuration. The values of the currents we get in this

configuration are the same (IE1, IE2, IC1, and IC2). But, in terms of voltages, the

value of voltage (VB1) is different from the value of voltage (VB2). We solved also

the Av1 and Av2 to determine the AvTotal of the circuit. Also the Vo (output

voltage) using the formula of (Vo=AvTotal*Vi). However, we conclude that the

values we computed is very close in terms of the values we measured from the

multisim software. With that, we can differentiate its values to each other and we

can determine that our computed values are correct. Lastly, when we used

oscilloscope, we noticed that the waveform of the circuit (Channel A vs Channel B)

are out of phase.
