Josef Essberger is a British born author who's also known as E-learning resource provider. He was
known for being the founder of best seller websites that are devoted to English teaching and learning.
Essberger was an author of several articles, short stories like The Chapel, The Metro, and The
Vinepress. He also wrote books, including a travel guide entitled Monopoly London. Josef Essberger
also owns a website that sells books, videos and other resources that may help students and teachers
alike. Josef Essberger loves engaging to Photography. And also had the experience to teach Engslish
around Europe and Asia. Other websites that he owns that are worth checking out are EasyEnglish
and SmallWorldFriends.

Plot - This is the story about a Charles De Gruse, a good man who had a vineyard and gave wine
testing to tourist, always saying that to talk about wine is important to know a lot of it.
Exposition Charles De Gruse a man who had unreal and incredible history about a man called
Pierre who made a delicious and important wine.
Rising Action Pierre was happily married with Faniry, when he received a notice that his
parents and brother died in an accident, he returned to his parents house and managed the
vineyard his father left.
Climax After all the jealousy from Faniry, one day she was drunk and tried to kill Pierre but at
the end she died in the winepress.
Falling Action Pierre hid parts of Fanirys body and told everyone that she left and came back
to Madagascar.
Resolution - At the end the four European men were surprised about the story, and realized that
they were drinking the wine made with pieces of Fanirys body.
Theme The theme is jealousy because the story showed how Faniry accused Pierre of things that
he isnt even doing just because she is insecure of her looks. At the end, the four European men

Techniques and literary Devices


Tone and mood The tone of the story is Tragic, as it showed how jealousy and the abuse of alcohol
can result in a loss of life. The mood is in the winepress story is frustrated because of Fanirys
continuous attempt to prove that Pierre is being infidel. The mood at the ending of the story is
surprised, this is the result of the guests knowing that the wine theyre drinking had Fanirys blood in
it.
