As such, it has billions of users who range from children to older adults. Nevertheless, studies

show that the highest number of users is young adults. Developers of this social media site have

ensured that the system works perfectly and with minimal inconvenience to the user. It is

paramount to note that Facebook is one of the easiest social media platforms to use. In the United

States, nearly 80 percent of individuals use Facebook, and it is regarded as a primary site for

communication and information sharing. In principle, there is a critical need for one to be wary

of the new developments of Facebook and the impact they have had on the platform users.

Introduction

Distinct social media platforms that entail Facebook and Twitter have been one of the

major ways of personal and business communication not only in the United States but also in

other countries worldwide. Ideally, Facebook, an online social media and networking platform,

has experienced consistent developments, which have made it one of the most successful

companies in the world. The owner of the platform, Mark Zuckerberg, is depicted as one of the

most influential and successful people in the world. The network has slowly become a

fundamental tool for many people, and today, there is a myriad of individuals who depend on the

site for business purposes. Predominantly, when the communication platform was started, it was

only a tool that enabled people to interact and share their experiences with other users in spite of

their locations. In principle, there is a need for one to be wary of the new developments of

Facebook and the impact they have had on the platform users.

worldwide. The company, which was founded in the year 2004, has been consistently attracting

Live, whereby a user can share with his or her friends about something happening at the same

time. Predominantly, the development of Facebook to broadcast live audio and videos has greatly

influenced the way individuals are using the platform lately.

Effectively, advertisers are some of the persons who have significantly promoted the new

Facebook live feature. It is one of the aspects that have made the communication technology not

only easy, but also enjoyable and efficient. Predominantly, people can market their products and

services live in Facebook groups and, for this reason, they are bound to improve their online

market (Porterfield, Khare & Vahl, 2011). In the same way, Facebook Live has enabled users to

develop effective communication skills because whenever they go live, there are people whose

attention should be grabbed. Like in radio and television, Facebook Live allows the viewers or

listeners to either listen or move to other posts. Concomitantly, in one of the interviews that I

conducted, I asked my friends about their view on Facebook Live. Most of them said that it is

always fun to go live because it kills the monotony of chatting through texts. One of my friends

said that it is always brilliant to go live and people are commenting positive vibe about you, I

go live often especially when I am bored at home.

Similarly, Facebook Live has played a pivotal role in disseminating information to the

public in the sense that radio stations and televisions can stream their programs, such as news, to

the audience. Graham claims that Facebook accounts such as the ones for companies,

celebrities, politicians, and other influential people can be monetized (Graham, 2008). In this

case, the users who have liked a particular fan page, for example, BBC, can view the broadcast.

Therefore, the platform has made it possible for individuals to watch or listen to news

irrespective of where they are provided that they have smart devices and the internet. Given this,

there is a need to note that the communication technology is immensely advancing and making

the world a better place.

Facebook developers have effectively worked to ensure that they accommodate more

people in their ever-growing user population. It is important to note that everyone can register as

a Facebook user in spite of their age provided that they have an email address or mobile number.

The developers understand the need for users to be informed and, for that reason, they allow

and services is one of the new marketing strategies that are being utilized by many Facebook

It is crucial to understand that despite numerous advancements that have been realized by

social media is an effective tool of marketing (2016). One of the challenges that have been

recognized on Facebook is insecurity, and there are different ways in which it can be denoted.

For instance, some people create fake Facebook accounts and may advertise job opportunities

(Graham, 2008). They then solicit money from the people who are interested in the jobs.

Nevertheless, most users have become wary of such trends, and, for that reason, it has

deteriorated in the recent past.

In conclusion, social media platforms, such as Facebook are essential tools that have not

only become a source of information, but also entertainment. Facebook is anticipated to be

developed further to improve the user experience. In the United States, a massive population of

youths uses Facebook as a primary communication tool. Markedly, Facebook usually connects

people from diverse origins, religions, regions, classes, and religions and for this reason, it is a

tool, which is actually used can help in creating peace and unity in the world. For this to happen,

there is a need for people to share positivity in their live sessions, recorded sessions, and other

posts.
