Hazards Control measures

How could someone become hurt or made ill How are you going to prevent this from happening?
Tripping/ Slipping Due to equipment there will be wires on the floor as well as equipment like tripods and furniture for the
set, the wires will not be near the actors when theyre performing on the stage area but it could be a
risk to the crew if they are carrying equipment or if any actors walk where the wires are. To prevent this
from being a risk the actors and crew will be pre warned about the wires & equipment and will get told
to take care when carrying equipment or walking. Tidying and clearing of the area being filmed will be
done prior to filming.
Lighting falling The crew or actors could be harmed if a light falls, the person in charge of the lighting will check the
lights are securely on so theyre not a risk. Also if the lights get hot, make sure the crew member who is
looking after lighting arrangements wears gloves to prevent burns. Lighting will be switched off when
lightbulbs are being replaced or lighting is adjusted.

Wires Make sure wires are away from where the actors are acting; inform them of the wires beforehand. Try
not to have the wires knotted as this could cause a problem with how well they work. Wires will be
organised so they go around walking areas.
Hazards Control measures
How could someone become hurt or made ill How are you going to prevent this from happening?
Electrical hazards A lot of electronic equipment will be being used. Make sure crew members are careful with the electrical
equipment to avoid potential electrocution. Make sure crew members are careful with fuses.

Fires and using Fire Exits Make sure everyone is informed of where the fire exits are and keep them clear at all times. With the
use of lighting, if they get too hot a fire could occur so all members of the production need to make sure
the fire exits are clear and that the lights dont get too hot to the point its unsafe.

Equipment Make sure crew members dont run whilst carrying equipment and handle it with care to avoid any harm
to either the crew members, actors or break the equipment itself. Make sure all equipment is sturdy and
wont fall onto anyone, this is vital because some of the equipment is heavy therefore could cause
injury. Cameras will be set up at fixed points to avoid injury.

Risk Level*: After your controls have been applied what is your assessment of the risk level of Medium
this activity?
