Analyze Learners

a) Learners general characteristics:

Students Year 2 Sarjana
8 male and 12 female
Students age: 8 years old
First class from standard 5 students
Majority of students enjoy Mathematics and 80% of the class
maintains an average above 65% within this subject area.
In general, students easily distracted and lose focus quickly
although their academic ability are higher than the others class. In
order to overcome this issue lessons must be tailored to
accommodate the students attention span and also to facilitate
their individualized preferred needs.

b) Previous knowledge: The students have learnt the 2-D shape and know
how to describe 2-Dshape.

c) Learning styles:
Students are from a variety of economic and social backgrounds
and their learning styles vary from:
Auditory (10% of students)
Visual (40% of students)
Kinesthetic(50% of students)
Students are more interest on group activity

State Objective

1. Students will be able to state the name of 3-D solid shape.

2. Students will be able to describe the properties of 3-dimensional shapes
with their flat faces, edges, curves and corners.
3. Students will be able to relate the objects in the environment to geometric
figures (cube, cylinder, sphere, cuboid, cone) after watching video.

Select Material, Media and Method

a) Material: Power point (slide), worksheet, video, 3D model, box

Power point slide is use as the teaching aids during the teaching
and learning process.
Worksheet is giving to students to do exercises.
Video is use to supports the lesson, by providing students with real
life scenarios that related to 3D shape
3D model is use to introduce the 3D shapes and their
characteristics.
Box is use in the music boxs activity

b) Media: laptop, LCD, speaker

Laptop and LCD help teacher to show the learning content.
Speaker will serve to project audio in order to allow students to
hear clearly the contents of the music and video.

c) Method: Explanation, Group activity, Discussions, Question and answer

Teacher explain about the learning content through power point
slide
Group activity motivate students to exchange their idea, help each
other and make brainstorming.
Discussions are carry out by students to exchange their opinion.
Question and answer are used by teacher to ensure students level
of understanding about learning content.

Utilize

1. Power point slides are used during the teaching and learning process.
2. Video clip is use to attract students attention and to supports the lesson,
by providing students with real life scenarios that related to 3D shapes.
3. 3D model is use as a concrete model to attract students attention and
easy to understand when introducing the 3D shapes and their
characteristics.
4. Box is use in the music boxs activity to put the questions that require
students to answer.
5. Worksheet is giving to students to do exercises for them to strengthen their
knowledge about 3D shapes.

Require Learners Participation

1. Students have to state out the real objects from surrounding that have
same shape with the 3D model during set induction.
2. Students have to listen the explanation of teacher about the 3D shapes
names and their flat faces, edges, curves and corners through the
presentation of power point slide (step 1).
3. In step 2, students have to pass a box one by one until the music stop.
Then, the students who are holding the boxes have to answer the
questions that choose from the box.
4. Students have to pay attention on the video clip (step 3).
5. Students have to discuss in group to find out what 3D shape had been
appeared in the video. (step 3)
6. Students are required to write down the answer on the paper after group
discussion and present it in front of the class (step 3).
7. Students have to complete the answer in the worksheet at step 4.
8. Students have to match solid name with real objects (closure).
