Introduction:
Prior Knowledge: the childrens parents have been invited to share with their child the memories of Photographs brought in by the children
their Baptism. Teacher will explain that not all children have been baptised and some may not have
a photograph of the event. Those children who are not baptised may bring a photo f themselves at

What is a celebration?
Every year those who love you celebrate your birth. We call it your Birthday. And we celebrate it
with a ritual called a Birthday Party. We have a cake and candles as symbols of your birthday and
the person whose birthday it is gets to blow out the candles. What we are celebrating is your life.
So when we are Baptised as a baby for example we call this a Christening and the ritual is being
immersed in water or water placed on your forehead.
Have students show their photographs to the class
