experiences followers of Jesus remember most are from the lives of Jesus and Mary.
During this lesson students will come to understand how God draws people closer in the community through prayer.

In previous lessons:
- Students focused on what a family is.
- What gifts we provide to our family.
- How to contribute to family life.
- How prayer brings family closer.
Extension For students who need an extra extension they can write an extra prayer of invocation or they can
decorate their prayer with images that represent their prayer.
Engagement For students who need extra engagement throughout the task, the EA can provide extra assistance
throughout the task or the student can use the iPad to write their prayer of invocation.
Special Considerations For students who need extra assistance they can use the iPad to write if they struggle
with writing or the teacher can act as a scribe while writing their prayer.
The wonder questions, which got asked during Godly Play, act as an assessment piece for the teacher to see if the
students can reflect on a piece of information given to them such as the script story. It allows the students to put
visualise the story.
The prayer of invocation is the summative assessment which will be marked using a rubric this allows the teacher
to know if the students understood the provided examples and applied them by writing a prayer to Mary and her
saints.
A formative assessment is the discussion the students have on the mat when they have to explain what a prayer of
invocation is. This is a simple assessment where the teacher can write notes about what particular students are
saying.
