This english book contains 6 chapters that will guide readers to increase their skill on reading.
From scanning which is explained in first chapter, previewing and predicting at second, skimming at
third, main ideas at fourth, patterns of organization at fifth, and making inferences in last chapter.

Before readers get into the first chapter, readers will get some introduction of how to use more
reading power using four part which are; reading for pleasure, reading comperhension skills, thinking
in english, and reading faster. Readers also required to understand why reading is important, so they
can study it with meaningful.

Chapter one explain about scanning. Scanning, as it explain in the book, is very high-speed
reading. When readers scan, they have a question in mind, readers dont have to read every words,
only the words that answer the question. This skill is useful to skip unimportant words so that they can
read faster (and of course, answer the test faster).

Previewing and predicting are skills that taught in second chapter. What is previewing and what is
predicting then? When readers gather information about a book by examining its cover, it called
previewing. The aim of previewing is to help you to predict or make some is to help readers to predict
or make some hypothesis. Doing these skills before reading will make such a big difference. Readers
can get some ideas what they will read. In this way, readers will be able to follow the writers idea,
and many more advantages.
Third chapter is about skimming. Skimming is high speed reading that can save a lot of our time .
the purpose of doing skimming is to get the main sense of a passage or book. But, then how do we
skim? We should read only the words that will help us get the sense of the text that we want.

Main idea at chapter four. The main idea of paragraph is authors idea about the topic. It is always
a complete sentence that includes both the topic and the idea that the author wishes to express about
the topic. This is really important chapter, since almost every english test usually make it as question.
So mastering this skill, will help readers to answer the question.

Pattern of organization in chapter five.int his chapter, readers will learn to recognize four basic
patterns that writes often use in developing their ideas. Finding the patterns helps to find the main
idea. Thus, looking for patterns is a way to improve your comperhension while reading.

Have you ever heard about it might be inferred from the text, that.......... question? To help
readers answer that kind of question, readers can read Making Inferences in last chapter. So what is
inference? Sometimes the topic of the text may not be stated anywhere directly. Readers must read
and find out what passage is about. This is called inference.

These skills that readers can get, are very useful if readers are about to take english test such as
IELTS or TOEFL, or probably just schools mid-test. However, these skills that taught in the book
wont be very effective if readers only learn without practicing it. Thats why this book got exercise in
every chapter, to help readers practicing it.
