HOW THE EDUCATION SYSTEM AFFECTS THE YOUTH OF TODAY

History of mental health in school


This topic is interesting for our documentary as it will allow a
comparison to be made between the mental health problems that
were most reported in the past vs the mental health problems
most reported today. This topic for our documentary will draw
conclusions that people could find interesting and this element will
provide a strong factual side for viewers to take in.

Do we have to conform?
This topic will outline the issue of having to chose certain GCSE
subjects at school and how these limitations affect some students. It
will be a good topic to discuss in the documentary as it is a choice that
will affect many peoples lives. Interviews could take place to show
how these choices have an impact on teenagers after their GCSEs and
the path they lead them. Data could be collected and put into graphs
and then facts and figures that can be quickly stated to viewers.

Stress behind exams


This topic is sure to highlight the issues of mental health surrounding
exams. It should allow viewers of the documentary to understand
more of the stress that teenagers go through in the exam season and
ways of revison that can reduce the amount of stress experienced by
young people. It will be a section of the documentary that will
include peoples school experiences and their opinions of how exams
work today.

Personal expericencs at school


These opinions of people are important to allow the viewers of the
documentary to be able to relate to some of the experiences
shared. In this topic we can use primary research feedback to find
out if peoples school experiences were positive or negative. These
real life example of the way school affects young people in the UK
will be beneficial to our ocumentary as it adds facts and statistics
that may not have been discovered before.
