Nomen: Latin II

Dies: Fall Extra Credit

Collis: Create Your Own Roman God/Goddess

Last possible Due Date: Tuesday November 21 (Turn it in any time before/on this date)

In the context of our semester project based on Roman Mythology, your extra credit opportunity for the fall semester is to
create your own Roman god/goddess.

Must Haves:
1. Name your God. Be creative, you know Roman name endings and various Roman names. You can combine
words you know.
2. Decide what your god is about. Some questions to think about: Why do they exist? Are they the god of
something major? Something minor? Has something come into existence because of your god?
3. Decide on the gender of your god. It does not need to be the same gender you are. Think about the gender in
regards to your gods character traits. For example: think about Spring and why she is usually represented as
a female deity.
4. Give your god character traits and personality. You may borrow from other gods, but dont take fully from
one god. Be creative, think about real life.
5. Give your god an appearance (draw him/her). Their appearance should match their character traits and
personality.

You are more than welcome to be humorous for this assignment, in fact, it will get you extra bonus points

Do you want full bonus points? Heres what you need to do:
1. Be creative.
2. Tell a story - this should be a biography of some sort about your deity.
3. Draw a picture - I need to see a visual representation of your deity
4. Use color
(Be funny)

This project does not have to be as simple as a picture and a biography, it can be as detailed and intricate as you would
like. Some other examples can include (please feel free to use your own ideas as well)
Childrens book
Video (think movie trailer, youtuber style, music video, etc)

Comic book

Nota Bene (Note Well) - Since you have over a month to complete this assignment, I will not accept assignments that
look as though they were started the night before. Remember, this is extra credit, you are not entitled to the points; you
must earn them.

Plan Thoughtfully
Bona Fortuna
