Father God,
Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron and his
family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is flowing
through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go well with
me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great You are and how much I
love You. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed in my body and my soul.

God has laid out a plan in His Word for the way authority is supposed
to lead and the way those under the authority are supposed to respond
to leaders in authority over them.
Romans 13:1, Let every soul be subject to higher authorities.
In the days before the flood God allowed men to govern themselves.
He wanted them to be ruled by their consciences. He had put His laws in their
hearts, but they did not obey His laws. They spent all their time thinking about
violence and lived wickedly. Because of mans sinful ways, God used a flood to
destroy all that he had created except for Noah and his family. Noah was saved
because he loved and obeyed God.
After the flood, God gave Noah instructions to establish government for the
good of all people. Without laws people had done whatever they wanted,
hurting innocent people. With government in place, lawmen could stop the
unruly and wicked people. Governments today are still based on the
instructions given to Noah for the good of all. Lawmen are ministers of God
who serve God by dealing with criminals and out-laws so we can live peaceful,
quiet lives.
As believers in Christ we have a responsibility to lawmen. We should pray for
lawmen to have wisdom and protection. We should respect lawmen, and we
should encourage lawmen as they serve God in our government. We must also
pray for and support other government leaders by obeying the laws and
paying taxes. God places leaders in authority. When we obey our leaders, we
are obeying God.
