VISUAL DOCKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM


8. Display indicating:
The docking system is based on a video system pilot display unit (PDU). The following rules STOP - Stop now.
and procedures show how a pilot should use this system to dock an acft. OK - Docking point reached, successful docking.
STOP
1. Gate Ready for Docking ONBLOCK - Docking procedure finished completely.
STOP - Acft has gone beyond docking position.
TOO FAR
A320 Acft type and flight number are alternated in a flashing sequence ESTOP - Emergency Stop
across the top of display board. Stop acft immediately, wait for docking instructions
from Apron Control to resume docking procedure.

1. Before the docking procedure is completely finished, pilot should not turn off the engine or
release the brakes.
2. Acft detected 2. The recommended taxiing speed: The speed should be decreased gradually from MAX 27 KT
within system detection area (80m to 65m displayed from the display screen) to MAX 3 KT
When the acft is detected, an acft symbol is displayed at the bottom of (10m displayed on the display screen), then slow down to 0 KT until reaching the stop point.
